Hmmm can get a motherboard for £30 so surely a cold deal right?

Anyway off to through my cloggs into some factory machinery!

Fairly good price for a very good board, so have some heat from me.

Can't understand why this is being voted so cold? a friend of mine got one of these with 20% off for 200 before Christmas! This is a fantastic deal!

Got a Core i7 920 to 4GHz with air on this and am actually the CustomPC (Really good hardware enthusiant UK mag) leaderboard with it, "Chris Cooke & Jamie Brown" if you're looking for it :D
#3
wtf i dont understand, someone find me this board (reputably one of the best i7 boards atm) for less than this n it can be justified as cold

I know it probably deserves to be voted hot 'n' all but why cry about it? It's just a silly website afterall :?
#5
voted hot - one of the cheapest core-i7 motherboards I've seen and if I had the money and a job would probably buy one :D
#6
Good value, cheapest i have seen for this MB.

Seems people who have no idea about what it actually is voting it cold.

You know how waiters and waitresses in America get paid something like 50c an hour and make the rest of their income out of tips? That's basically how it works with CustomPC's writing staff, except with waiters and waitresses replaced with beings of an even lower rung of the evolutionary ladder, and tips replaced with large bribes from whichever company's PR women are visitng the office that day. And it's their job basically to make you think that a £200 motherboard is better than a £50 motherboard. And to make you spread fud when asked questions like, "How come this i7 motherboard is £150 more expensive than a decent P35 board, when its feature set, such as the now-absent memory controller, is actually lower?"

Ah Yes?
Why by a Golf GTI when a golf match will do the same job for about 7grand less.
Dont thing a Core i7 will work with this Mobo p35.
Cutting edge technology to support the core i7 chip?
#12
No need to vote cold, this is purely any discount saving that can be had is surely a hot deal? Not for me. Any geek that spends that sort of money on a mobo has more money than sense. Your regular punter wouldn't even think about buying a £200 mobo when a £30 one will do. Only those extreme nerd/geek types would be interested I think... the ones who don't have a life and play World of warcraft all day.

Thing is, you're paying three times for the best Core i7 + mobo than you are for a 2.8GHz Core2Qaud + board, for 10% better framerates in games. That's not going from a Golf GTI to a Golf Match, it's more like going from walking to having a 10 year old Golf, because that's what you can afford with the money you save.

Im a little worried about the awaiting stock business, could be longer than 7 days or stock may never even arrive

yeah i was a bit about this as well but i spoke to the guy and he said they get them in regular enough and most of the time its sent out b4 those 7 days
#17
Well in that case its a really cheap deal for an amazing motherboard. It softens the blow a little in terms of moving to the i7 platform

there is a memory controller, it is integrated w the CPU, something AMD have done for years, the core i7 allows more memory bandwidth and should be particularly handy for those who render or encode for a living
#19
no thnks, would better buy amd. smart choice (c)
