I understand the link isn't clear. Make sure to click on the more sellers to find the Amazon Warehouse option and discount will be applied at checkout.

Makes sense to buy it from Amazon if you have a student discount however a new one can be had for £15 more plus you get Gears of War 4 from other retailers. Bought a Zotac 1070 AMP from eBuyer yesterday for £390, sure not a Strix but card is absolutely silent, runs very cool and 5 year warranty, plus free Gears 4.

Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 AMP Edition for £389.99 @ eBuyer

I'd love to get one of these new cards, but I can't help thinking that they'll come down in price...then the pound crashes...Doh!
I'll say "HOT" because I know that students despite claiming to be poor would find the money and with 20% off it is probably a good deal.

The palit jetstream card is 372 on aria. That's the cheapest around atm that I can see brand new and comes with gears.

Avoid Palit cards, especially 1070, I hear nothing but issues with them which is why I went with the Zotac.

No issues whatsoever with my Palit GameRock 1070, got it for £369 slightly after release!

The issues are entirely with the cheap Dual model. The JetStream and GameRock are among the best cards out there.

Interesting, I did a bit of research before buying and everywhere I read people were complaining about Palit cards so that's why I went with the Zotac, but it doesn't make sense why they wold be limited to the dual model as I doubt the other two would be different boards, just different coolers.

No, the other models have a much larger PCB that extends up well beyond the bracket on the card.

The Dual's PCB isn't as tall.

Most (if not all) companies use cheaper PCBs with inferior components and less power phases for their budget models.

What issues have there been with Palit 1070 dual cards?

From what I read the Palit cards would work for a like a week or two and then would not display anything from any of of the ports.

The owner of OcUK reported an abnormally-high return rate on them recently.
The Palit is crap, we sold a lot of them as the deal was good but the return rate on those cards is through the roof. Hence why we no longer promote it.

Some statistics:

KFA 1070 Blower: 721 sold, 1.91% return rate of which 45.45% were faulty, 45.45% were unwanted and 9.09% were courier damaged.

Palit 1070 Dual: 200 sold, 11% return rate of which 72.73% were faulty, 27.27% were unwanted and 0% were courier damaged.

The return rate on the Palit Dual is damn right shocking, I sell all the cards but it is clear Palit have made a cost cutting excercise on that product, it is our highest return rate 1070. As such I can no longer recommend this product. The other Palit cards have much lower return rate and we do recommend those as the Jetstream and Gamerock cooler is fantastic.

Scan have the jetstream at £379.99 weekend deal, slightly more than Aria but I prefer Scan, each to their own. Ordering later .
