Can this be used with a normal ADSL line thats not a fibre or cable one (if that makes sense)

You would need a modem.

Not without a seperate modem. Its a cable router, so it only has an RJ45 wan port, and NO built in modem for adsl or vdsl.

Yes that exactly what this thing is designed for.

I use lifebox from orange to get internet (u shroud get modem with any provider) and then use router to bust your wife or use as hub or whatever u need

so 1 wire to connect your modem to router and thats it

bought one of this few month ago on the 69 quids deal from curry's, have to say that wifi coverage is a bit disappointing... 3 walls from living to bedroom and some times gets disconnected...

HOT!
Gets 5/6 in the latest PC Pro mag at £135 and says its the same as their higher end "PC Pro Recommended" RT-AC68U (£173) only minus external antennas.

Really tempted to get this and plug it into my BT home hub 5. 71.2Mbps at close range, USB 3 port, "embarrassingly pain free to get running"

Just bought the RT-N66U for £107.00.......Is it worth sending that back and getting this one?

Depends really - the RT-N66U "wins" if you have BT Infinity, due to integrated vdsl modem, It only has wireless-n, but even that is pretty quick, and chances are all your wireless adapters are only "n" anyway. If wifi-ac is a priority, and you don't mind reconnecting a vdsl modem then the swap might make sense.

If you don't have any wifi-ac devices and aren't planning to I'd probably stick with what you have got.

Is this better than a virgin media superhub 2?

Someone from currys once told me - if the price ends in 97p, that means they have very very few of them like 1 per store maybe

Yeah I got a home hub 5 from eBay for 35 quid, it has the fibre modem built in and it has ac WiFi which seems to work well, good signal strength and range.

You should have gotten the AC66U from Amazon.es for <£93 delivered.
