Money off from the usual price is good, but think there's another deal over at Best Buy for a similar price and that's not including potential 8% quidco...

I tend to agree to be honest. People just vote stuff cold and move on colding everything they see without saying why.

Hot from me just for the reason that it's the cheapest you'll find that particular product at present.

torn between this and the Blackberry Playbook....

I have a feeling this model without the keyboard is not selling as well as the one with. I want one of these but the keyboard is far to expensive to buy separate.

Hot!

I got the 32GB Eee Pad from Comet on Weds for £429.99 basically because this means I can slap in a 32gb microsd card and have my entire music library on the pad and leave myself plenty of room for apps, ebooks and other media. This is my favourite gadget yet. I had it rooted with CMW and upgraded to 3.1 within 20 minutes.

I don't need the dock as this is for entertainment purposes only. The netbook is now redundant and sooo last season! :D

Love the eee pad!

Voted Hot , posted this Galaxy Tab at Argos EBay Outlet and it's freezing even though it's probably the cheapest out there for the 3G and Wi Fi version.

Fancied the Galxy Tab mostly for it's size ,but think I may go for this.

Overpriced item - been informed that the price likely to drop by ~ 20 to 30% over the next few weeks.
Normal price should be around £300 max with the docking.

Really, what is your source. What something is and what you think it should be is a different thing.
I'm fed up with reading comments like overpriced and should be this much. It is killing what this site is about.

Be be interested in where you heard that too.

If it were to come down that would be good news. I'd read the 3G version would be out in August - and the Keyboard dock more widely available by end of next week on Amazon UK RRP £99. That's all I know ...

I upgraded from a Galaxy Tab and the difference is huge. For starters the Tab is a lot slower, the froyo/gingerbread OS is just like a mobile phone and the ebook readers are pretty bog standard. I was very let down with the Galaxy Tab, it is just like a large Galaxy S really (which I already own)!

I don't see how people can think this is overpriced, you get a bigger/better screen than iPad 2, more memory, a micro SD slot on the actual tab meaning it is instantly expandable, you can drag and drop files via usb on the PC, you get full flash support giving you the full internet experience, totally customisable visually and to top it off custom roms available all over the net. This is a stunning piece of kit for the price. I had no problems paying £429.99 just for the 32gb Tablet without the dock.

True it's a bit geeky flashing custom rom etc but it's all part of the Android fun. Honeycomb 3.1 is fantastic IMO. Once all the coders jump on the Honeycomb bandwagon expect to see some stunning apps!

That isn't to say the ipad isn't also over priced ;

Tablet power/cpu = ok netbook so say £200 (but Android cheaper than Windows I think so a saving here)
undockable keyboard worth £50
so the touch screen is costing an extra £180?

does'nt sound like good value to me but maybe I am missing something ; this is not to say the transformer & keyboard isn't a good device - I think it is; but I personally I agree its expensive for what it is...

anyone else know about the price drop on this item ?
#20
with the Toshiba coming out very soon this product will drop to around £330.

the Toshiba should cost 320

The thing that makes this special and wins the rave reviews is the keyboard dock, without it it's just a very ordinary tablet.
The docking station is not in stock at a reasonable price anywhere ( some ppl are selling it for silly money like £175). To be honest, you're better off skipping this deal and buying the 16gb transformer + dock package for £429 at DSGi, much as I hate to recommend them for anything
