Please be aware the battery life is not as good as the normal version.

The battery life will be about 4 to 5 hours in 500GB version because of the power consuming of the hard drive

But that's only if it's plugged into the keyboard right?

Can one not change HDD to SDD to reduce power consumption?

Quick google found this review

key quote

"The premium Transformer with a hard drive manages 9:16 hours in our WLAN test, which is 1:31 hours less than our review unit without an HDD and with 32 GB flash storage".

This. Adding an SSD will probably mean only 30-45 mins less battery life. And I'm sure there will be power options within windows or with the SSD software to extend this further.

I think with O2 priority moments you can save another £25 or so :)

You can always put the HDD to sleep after say 1 minute so it would be sleeping most of the time - unless you're actually using it. In any case modern mobile HDDs don't consume that much power, I don't think that is the reason for the time difference.

You can just remove the HDD entirely from the keyboard if it really takes so much power.

I have just purchased the deal I posted yesterday and as soon as you boot up from the box you're left with 14gb on the hard drive which is why I figured the 500 gb version for £350 was better value. Saying that the 500gb is actually only 465gb. Great bit of kit though, definitely recommend.
