Asus Transformer Pad at PC World for £399.99
This tablet is glorious, and it's older brother still selling for 499 and up elsewhere.
EXACTLY the same spec as the prime but with a cheaper chassis.
Posting on here to see the heat. If it gets hot enough then I can justify the purchase myself!
For 4 cores, 4.0 (ICS) and a keyboard, as well as 18 hours of that sweet battery. How could you resist?

hot.
I will admit, I am psyched for the infinity but at this price it is hard to sniff at.

True, my mistake. I thought the prime had the 1920x1200 screen.
?this has only just been released.

XOOM is £150 cheaper and 32Gb so not worth an extra £150 for a keyboard dock in my opinion.
So... not quad core? or 1GB of RAM? or 1280 x 800 res screen (OK, not super IPS+)?
Question I've been asking is, is the galaxy tab 10.1 better than a transformer? Would love some advice as getting that free tab from the s3 Carphone Warehouse promo and was wondering if it was better to sell it and buy an asus instead.. Any ideas anyone?
Anyway can we be clear here, this is the brand new (not actually available in the UK yet) version of the Transformer that sits between the original and the Prime released last year. It is basically the same spec as the Prime i.e. Tegra 3 Quad Core chip, 32Gb on board, 1200x800 IPS screen and this price includes the docking station.
That makes it much better than the original and is almost the same as the Prime. The main differences are that the Prime has it's chip clocked 1.3Ghz while the TF300T is clocked at 1.2Ghz and a Super IPS screen - though I have no idea what this means since it's the same resolution. According to US reviews the Prime is slightly more readable in brighter light but it doesn't appear to offer much of an improvement.
I'm not sure about the gorilla glass comment above but I would think it does have it even if it's not specified. The other differences are that it has a plastic body rather than the Prime's metal case. This makes it feel cheaper & less sturdy (perhaps) but might help alleviate those WiFi issues reported on the Prime. ASUS Won't admit it but I'm cynical. Finally the TF300T is slightly heavier than the Prime by about 2oz.
It is however £100 cheaper than the Prime with keyboard and I have one on order :)
Initial models are coloured blue but apparently there will be white & red versions soon.
One thing else to note - the docking stations on all 3 models are NOT compatible so you can't use them on a different model.
You can use the Prime docking station, but it doesn't look right as the design is different.
