Checked and I cant believe this hasn't been posted ! (must be new- the deal not the laptop!) The specs are nothing special ,the 10 inch touchscreen not very big ,but for under £200 ,including Windows 8 and MS Office Home and Student 2013 this has to be a bargain especially for kids off to Uni shortly .. Not at all what I'm looking for, came across it while looking for a very different Laptop- hope it'll be of interest to some ,but from John Lewis ,with the 2 year warranty has to be a steal . Available in Black ,White , Blue and Red . Has to be an ideal Starter Laptop .

The £100 saving is already applied and the price is actually showing as £249.95 online.

Very basic processor, there is no mSATA or M.2 SSD slot and the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. The battery is replaceable, but one has to disassemble the entire machine in order to get to it.

link to the disassembly instructions, for those who would like to replace the normal hard drive with a SSD/Hybrid drive

Hot for the price, but I wouldn't buy one for myself.

I have used a couple of netbooks that were 10" and I found the screens to be just about usable with the keyboard, maybe it's different with windows 8 I don't know. I find using say an iPad is a lot better since you aren't hindered by the keyboard despite having the same size screen. I wouldn't want to write assignments with such a small screen, and side by side viewing would be virtually unusable at this size. The battery life is only 3.5 hours which is dire for a netbook, I bought 3 different models for family and friends around 5 years ago with battery lives of at least 8 hours.

The price is about right in my opinion, although compared to other retailers this is a bargain. Argos also have this for the same price but you get the 2 year guarantee with JL.
