Why the cold votes?

Why the cold votes?

Everytime this comes up it's cold, personally i like it cos it's got some style unlike them ugly Dell Vostro and unreliable Acers. 250Gb HD is a plus, so is the 2 year warranty. Hot here.
Sound advise, rep added!
I would have this over Dell anyday!
p.s. too many Dell fans on this forum
Anyone with one of these tell me how hard it is to remove the Asus installed windows and the software that comes with it and reinstall a standard XP or Vista ? Are there drivers out there for the hardware ?

Also, any idea on the battery life for word processing ? I'm guessing with a 6 cell it should be fairly good ?
5.4" very dinky:oops:

Yeah, great spec for a netbook !! How do they do it !! :)
As an ASUS F3JP (same chassis as this one) owner, I have lost a bit of faith in the brand. It became noisy within about a month of me owning it (and having it sit on my desk at home) - both the fan and DVD drive were to blame. It was always hot. After about a year, it got to the point where the fan was making a horrible noise but obviously wasn't working at all as it would just get hot and then shut down after a few minutes. (I also had the x1700 vs Vista conflict, that this machine won't have.) Asus did repair it, but took quite a long time, finding errors on the HDD and fan and DVD errors. It's still noisy and hot, though not as hot. The DVD still vibrates quite violently when spinning up.

I guess I expected better build quality from ASUS. My fiancee's Acer feels sturdier.

The other reason why I wouldn't choose this ASUS is the X1100. While I have never had a Dell and can't comment on their quality, there have been several, much cheaper, Dell's with Intel X3100 which I would consider my minimum GPU. For these reasons (iffy build quality and relatively poor value for that GPU/CPU combination) I have to consider cold.
+ two years warranty and a sleek design defo a hot !

Why over me :w00t:
