I got an e-mail from ebuyer and spotted that deal. It seems that this deal hasn't been posted yet, at least not with this graphics card. I have looked it up on notebookcheck, and it seems like a decent graphics card, slightly better than Geforce 8600M GT. Here is the link:

By the way, it's my first post, let me know if anything is wrong.

Looks ok to me. Decent manufacturer, nice graphics card and wireless N. Processor not the best but OK and lack of HDMI is a minor niggle I suppose.

Lack of HDMI on a notebook is not minor, imo.

Fair enough, depends entirely on individual usage I suppose. Having HDMI is a complete irrelevance to me as I have never hooked my laptop upto a TV (nor can I think of when I would need to).

This is a great value laptop, regardless of lack of HDMI, I looked at these but needed a laptop for connecting to the TV for my wife. I like the spec though on this, and would probably go for it if I didn't need HDMI.

Have some heat.

As far as I can see, this is a *fantastic* deal if you want a laptop with a decent graphics card. There are no other laptops that come with the HD 4570 or similar performance cards for under £500.

Beware that it's Vista and not Windows 7 though. Not sure if the "upgrade program" is still available from Asus or what the cost is.

Still a good deal IMO.

On the Ebuyer page it says it is Upgradable to Windows 7. I will add it to the title as well as the page you need to go to to Upgrade.

THIS HAS GOTTA BE A BETTER BUY..

Acer Aspire 5732 Value Laptop, Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 15.6" WXGA, DVD±RW, Webcam, Dark Blue Lid, Windows 7 Home Premium.

Why would it be a better deal? Because of an extra gig of RAM? The processor could be slightly better, but its 2.1Ghz also... Not to mention that it has a shared graphics card and no HDMI either. The only reason I posted this deal was because of the graphics card, its rare to get a graphics of this class for such price.

Personally, I do agree with you. I paid £10 less for a similar spec, with HDMI and Windows 7, but possibly not such a good graphics set up. The key is to decide what is important to you personally, and buy accordingly. I think HDMI futureproofs the lappy and will give better second-hand values if and when you come to sell it. Asus does have above average reliability going for it.

Plus it is an Asus, not an Acer.

This is worth paying that bit more for, got all the extras that the asus is missing.

Looked at that deal deal for a while but went with this instead in the end for an extra £20:

http://www.simplyacer.com/Acer_Aspire_5738G_625140.html

Good graphics card, not too dissimilar scores from the hd4570, bigger hard drive and a slightly better processor, and HDMI. I've had acer before and they've served me well. looked on youtube at a vid of someone playing GTA IV on it and it looked great. It's one of their gemstone laptops so design pretty sweet also. Only thing is I believe the asus has a webcam whereas I dont think the acer has. Have my own webcam so I wasn't too bothered about that.

Both good laptops though for under £400 so depends how important the little differences are to you.

The OP's laptop has now dropped to £360 at ebuyer! Can someone please unexpire/change the price? I'm not sure how to (or if I can) do that
