decent spec and price for a 6 inch phone
#6
it will drop lower than this before long, no-one is buying if the repeated price drops are anything to go by
#7
better than a sony z ultra?
#8
1280 x 720 resolution doesn't impress, but I guess for the price it could be okay.

For some maybe...

Five and a half to six inches seems to be the way it is going... Flagship phones like the iPhone 6 Plus, Nexus 6 and Galaxy Notes are selling in there droves.

This is a great price for this phone and while may not be a big seller in its own right. It hasn't had the marketing of the big phone brands, but still has a great company making/backing it, who make award winning tablets.

People complaining about the spec or screen resolution need to be realistic for the price.

I find thumb & forefinger is a nice grip for a change

No way this is 6 inches, closer to 7 inches surely.

Mobicity import them, right? I think that's what stopped me from buying from them before it was even officially launched in the UK.

I had a good go of one of these in Thailand in October. They're 8500b over there (£170). Great phone. I nearly bought one but I wasn't sure if it was dual SIM or it could take a micro sim OR a nano sim but not both at the same time. The Asian market is very often dual sim. Samsung make all of their tabs out there with a sim slot in them, which is rather handy!

There's a really decent and unbiased reviewer on YouTube called C4ETech. You'll get plenty of information on there. A lot of phone for the money.

If you think it's too big, take a look at the Zenfone 5 on Ebay. It should be about £100 but with a 5" screen (obviously) but these are great spec phones.

Nice phone at a good price, the camera especially looks good for this price range.

Good review here: http://youtu.be/qQ40LeGymjM the flexing of the screen is a tad worrying though!

Hot deal.

You can find it elsewhere for a bit less (I was lucky to have £250 PCWorld vouchers), but well worth a go if you received vouchers for Christmas.

I picked one up in store the other week.
Comes with Jelly Bean installed however after about 30 mins of being turned on a bunch of updates downloaded and the phone is now running Kit Kat. Asus have also detailed that there should be a Lollipop update in March 2015.

Battery lasts me almost 2 days (moderate use ).

While Asus have added their Zen UI, it still feels close to pure Android. The camera app is most noteworthy with some really slick features such as 'Time Rewind' and 'Miniature'.

While not the biggest screen resolution; it is still crisp and clear with vivid colours (there is also a built in Asus App to adjust the colour so you can really modify to your viewing preferences.

6" screen size it odd for the first hour or so and then it just felt natural (my old phone now feels like a toy). There is also a quick setting called 'One Hand Mode' which allows you to reduce the working screen size to either 4.3", 4.5" or 4.7". Very handy when you are carrying something in the other hand and wish to still use the phone.

All in all the best phone I have ever had (been an Android user since the G1).
Very pleased and for £250 it is a solid purchase.

You have to press the screen quite hard to make it do that. Unless you are very heavy fingered (is that a medical condition) then it won't even be an issue.
I had to use a bit of force to get the same result. Way more force than I would ever apply in normal use.

Camera app is indeed fantastic. The built in features are slick and easy to use with great results.

you'll get hit with 20% VAT and Royal Mail £8 handing fee as soon as parcel enters the UK

Is 720p really that bad on a 6" screen? Yes I know dearer rivals have more pixels but I'd be more than happy with 720p on a 6".
#27
Yes I would agree with you paully.
I'm pretty sure that you have to go above 32" with an HD TV to start seeing differences between 720p and 1080p. Everything is going to look good on a 6" screen at 720p
#28
Like that it is dual sim too but 6" is perhaps al little too big for a mobile phone. My new dual-sim Motorola Moto G 2nd gen 5" screen is just about ok for one-handed operation IMO.

HTC One XL - not a bad phone, not a great phone.

Zenfone 6 fits in my pocket. Cannot fit anything else in with it however I never put anything in the same pocket as my phone.

I would say it's worth nipping to a shop to get a feel for the phone. Skinny jeans will be right out.

One day people will realise that skinny jeans are a fashion disaster and then everyone can buy a Zenfone 6.

So zen

As a Z Ultra user, the screen size is great & I don't find using it as a phone an issue. The thing that is a little awkward is the weight - it is quite heavy to hold for long periods. Check out the weight of this device before you buy to see how it compares to your current phone & maybe find something the same weight to try holding it for a while.
#35
The Zenfone 5 has obviously gone down in price due to the launch of the 6. It's not a bad phone at all if a 6" screen is too big.

nope.

Am very tempted to get this phone. looking for something fast with good battery, not put off by the big screen think if your using mostly for gaming and video watching screen size is a plus. I'll would be replacing my HTC one x+ so hopefully its faster than it ?

How well does it fit in the pocket?
