Anyone purchased this before? How does this compare to the Redmi

Over £100 so usual comment to seriously consider paying merchant directly via UK credit card to benefit from legally enforceable S75 protection.

battery is smaller but supports nfc which is useful.

Well presented review Here

The bloatware seems to be an issue as it hogs most of the ram. It has some pretty good features and camera is supposed to be very impressive.

Many reports of recent sales from this company not being honoured. Have a look at the reviews including TrustPilot.

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom has a 10x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom

If you're looking for a zoom phone, you might want to consider it

I ordered 2 camera lenses from these last month £400ish and never had an issue, in fact I was pleasantly surprised by the quick delivery time and the well packaged items :D

Bear in mind these reviews are based on the phone running android 5.1 and not 6.0 or 7.1 which I'm sure most people would be upgrading to, also a lot of these reviews are based what you are getting for the price, but the price when reviewed in that review was £286 :D

Link in description updated to include same phone in white and also the 128GB variant :D

You don't see many phones under £200 with OIS on the camera.

According to the YouTube review he could only get around 3 hours battery life on mixed consumption which is a deal breaker for me.

3hrs! Doesn't sound too good, talking about
needing a bigger battery: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-70207-1-1.html

It's old though and has a pretty average sensor which doesn't deliver particularly impressive images. Really only the zoom and xenon aspects are talking points but picture quality alone is below par.

It also is a very chunky phone, prone to dust ingress in the zoom assembly and general faults with the zoom owing to the moving parts if the phone gets knocked around. Very old CPU and only 8GB of internal storage with no option to use adopted storage as it never got updated past KitKat.

I would say if you really need 10X zoom you're better off just buying a decent compact camera. For everything else, modern smartphones completely outclass things like the K Zoom and S4 Zoom before it.

Yeah, I'm all too aware of its faults :( You can get the Araree Pop case to prevent dust ingress though, and I gather you can root it to use the SD as internal storage. I can't really slate the sensor - I took some pretty amazing photos with mine before I updated it (the OTA update clearly isn't optimized for the hardware and gets rid of the digital zoom, annoyingly)

I just figure, what's the point in a zoom phone that only zooms 3x? And from the sound of it, this has its own performance problems to deal with

3X zoom is actually a decent amount. It's not telephoto but it can help compose a better shot. The advantage of this is that it is not a protruding telephoto lens like on the K Zoom (or a normal camera) so there are no real disadvantages to having it - e.g. bulk, mechanical failure, dust ingress.
