Arrrrrrgh really want to replace the wife's aging Nook HD but mediatek cpu & lower screen res puts me off especially as I only paid this for the Nook 2 years ago.

Don't want to go much higher though, might hold out see if anything else drops

If this screen was FHD it would be hot. How annoying.
I thought 1280 was classed as HD?

1080p is full HD and the number refers to the vertical pixels. 1280 in this case is horizontal pixels (with only 800 vertical) which amounts to 'HD' (720p/768p compatible depending on how you reference it) - frankly it's 'good enough' given the price and the fact it's brand new, but there are plenty of people who want all the features but don't want to pay for them.

Lenovo has 1900 x 1200 pixels. This has 1280 x 800. But Lenovo is £80 more?

Other specs roughly the same.

A standard MHL Cable (HDMI - Micro USB) should work with this to hook up to your TV.

Great find! Not quite as good as the Z380C ZenPad 8.0 that got down to £59.97 about a month or two ago but decent nonetheless especially for a larger form factor. Also being the 'M' not the 'C', it comes preinstalled with Android M and has a Mediatek processor which should remove some of the complaints surrounding the Intel CPU (that was generally fine but could be laggy and had issues with some apps, e.g. banking).

And I find it hard to believe some people are actually complaining about getting a brand new 10" branded tablet for under £100 because it's not 'full HD'. I'm sure you'd all like a Surface Pro 4 for £250 but that's not realistic is it?

Thanks for taking the trouble to write that - much appreciated. I was going to get the Tab 10.1a, but with this one on offer, is the Samsung worth an extra £60?

That is very good, but that resolution on a screen that size is not going to be ideal if you are going to use it to read a lot of text.

Think I'll put the extra £20 in for the full HD Lenovo weighing up the pros & cons

Thanks all

I got this just over a week ago for £129 @ Currys. It's mostly fine (looks nice, screen is quite good), but it has one huge issue.....even though it's Marshmallow it won't let you use an SD card as internal memory.

I've tried a few of the fixes online, and although there are ways to force it using ADB, it's buggy as heck (you have to reset the tablet before you can play any of the games you installed on the SD card).

Still hot for me at £99, but limited if you want any more than 16GB for apps etc.

From reviews I read there's issues with Google Play too and license issues, especially when playing movies on Lenovo tablets. Something about Google not recognising it as a licensed player ? Not sure. May not be relevant to you, didn't matter much to me as it was my mum I was looking for and she just plays games, but could be annoying if you come to use it eventually.

Argos refurb usually just means open box returns. Pretty sure they don't actually check them out do anything to them.

Hey Wadz - bough a couple of these for Xmas presents and did it through Quidco (1st time ever) just one simple and perhaps annoying question.....when will this appear in my Quidco account? Been a hour and the money has left my account. Appreciation in advance.
