Bought this the other day for the missus to put BG on her laptop seeing as the baldurs gate series alone costs the same as this full set.
Other great games such as neverwinter nights 2 and GTR2 make this a great value pack.

These may be marked higher instore (some were marked 30,15,10) but should scan ok at 9.98. Online price is higher.

These all come in indicidual dvd cases encased in a PC World cardboard slip cover (exclusive pack i suppose)

Neverwinter nights 2

Worth it for Baulders gate pack, test drive unlimited and GTR2 easily.

NOt sure about the other games, but at this price who cares.

Neverwinter nights is a nice bonus :-D

Voted hot.

baulders gate FTW - had it for ps2 and sat there for hours on co-op :D

The similarity between the PS2 franchise and the PC one are tiny to say the least : )

Console baldurs gate = action hack and slash
PC baldurs gate = control a whole party solving quests and pointing and click battles

Good deal though : )

@ deadleg21 - Baldur's Gate for the PC is nothing like the 'arcade style' PS2 version. The PC version is brilliant though (if a little dated) and has 50+ hours of gameplay in it alone.

i got one of these just after christmas in their january sale, when everything was half the stickered price, so i only paid 7.98 for it :)

still, even at 9.98 this is a bargain, some really good games in there, though i don't think i'll ever bother installing dungeons and dragons online lol

This is a bargain, can't remember how much I paid but it was definitely more.

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 are classics, and Neverwinter Nights 2 does a much better job of recapturing that than the first did.

Test Drive Unlimited is a great driving game, especially if like me you don't like normal racing games, you can just wander around the island if you want to.

If you are into racing games then GTR2 is considered one of the best simulators. There was a quote from ones of the developers in PC Gamer interview before the game was released, one of them said they had forgotten to implement the weight factor of petrol moving in the tank. That's how serious it is.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is pretty good, if you like Theme Park style games then this is worth a play.

Tycoon City New York isn't really a game, there is very little challenge you just have to place a few buildings and items and wait for more funds, but it's cheery enough.

Matrix: The Path of Neo should be burnt on purchase. Aside from 'moments' where the combat system works, it's dull, ugly and very same-y.

Don't know about Act of War, Warfront or D&D Online.

The first NWN was a great game, possibly even better than the Baldurs Gate series. It was however, a very different style of game (and the original campaign was pretty dull). NWN2 seemed to be a compromise between the two, not a bad game but with neither the great single player nor the accessibility of BG and NWN (plus it runs like a snail).

You can get the Baldurs Gate series for slightly cheaper on it's own, but this still look like a good deal considering the other games are half-decent.

worth it for test drive unlimited alone, excellent arcade type racing game, and as someone said you can just explore the island, which is absolutely huge!

If I choose the collect in store option from the web site will I be expected to pay the web price of £25, or will I ay the scanned through price of under a tenner??
#13
10% off student discount too?
Unless they stopped that? It's been a while since I shopped there! I'll check my local store before they close!
Many thanks! Hot!

If this offer actually exists you can tear the white piece of paper off and pay the instore price.

edit: well according to delsaber it does exist

Be warned though, this is the PC version of BG which is considerably different to the version on the consoles. The PC version is much more stat-heavy, plot driven slow paced RPG compared to the action hack/slash of the console.
#17
Balder's Gate and Neverwinter Nights alone make this worth it

got mine tonight after reserving earlier on. now sitting down to get installing! sur eenough £9.98! even the guy in store was shocked hehe

Yes - just go to the [email protected] point and tell the guy it's cheaper instore and he should put it through without the [email protected] reservation number and it'll come up for £9.98.

If not - then say you'll have a look around and pay for it at the main tills and lose your bit of paper.

EDIT - My local store has several of these - been meaning to pick one up for a while!

Interesting how this site works.

I posted this exact deal about a month ago and got slated for it.

Cinematic is a better word, the cutscenes are a pleasure to listen to (the graphics aren't much to watch, although the magic effects are good) rather than something you feel forced to sit through, and you will be spouting quotes by the end of it.

"This reminds me of the time uncle scratchy decided to hunt deals, or was it parsnips?"

got my boxset last night... i've tried act of war (good) and gtr 2 (fricking awesome)

Yeah i noticed but alot of the time its to do with presentation.
The main selling points imo are in the title here so people dont even have to go inside the deal to know its good, unlike your one which just said '10 games'
When they did go inside there is a little more info along with pointing out the better games and a comparitave pricing against just 1 of the components.
Bad spelling and grammar here probably but no typing First Letter Of Every Word Either :)

Just picked mine up one more left in the Oxford store though I think the cashier will be buying that. They are all in their original boxes which is an added bonus.
#25
Not sure about the other titles but I purchased Act of War and its Expansion Pack when they were first released. Anyone who enjoys RTS should definately purchase both those games. They are as far as I'm concerned very much underrated. It's what the next C&C Generals should have been like, ultra-realistic official and unoffical units e.g. B2 spirit, JSF Lightening II, MRLS etc.

Thanks. voted hot. Got one in the end - the stock checker isnt exactly accurate - 1st store was meant to have stock - didnt have any - 2nd store had them in stock, but not according to the stock checker!
#27
Checked three stores before finally getting one, none in brentford or kingston, stock checker reckoned fulham did so I went and they had two on shelf, though sounded like the guy that served me was gonna buy the other one, were marked at 15 on shelf.

Got one from Tottenham Court Road store. Amazing deal, heat and rep added.

for people wanting to play baldurs gate in baldurs gate 2 resolution look up easytutu mod

Great set this, plenty left upstairs at Leeds Headrow marked at the reduced price. But if I hadn't found this deal on here I would have probably walked straight past!

Do any of these games only allow 'x' number of installs? Or can they be reinstalled again and again...Just I was hoping to put them on my work PC which gets wiped fairly frequently for reasons such as this :whistling:

Saw two at Bristol Winterstoke yesterday, one missing NWN2 and so a further 10% off. Some games appeared to be missing manuals.
