Doubt you can get much better for AGP - I had a PowerColor 3850 PCI-E in my last PC and was always comfortable playing latest game - albeit not at highest settings.

I have ordered one of theese few weeks ago, received faulty card (artifacts), which had seal broken and had sign of use. Was so angry, especially when read this "We test every single return. If a returned item is found not to be faulty by our independent test centre we will return the item to you ".. how the bloody they've tested card I've received? Plugged it in and checked if the fan is spinning?
good deal, bad play

p.s. it were in fact powercolor, but with a different cooler; The one pictured is very good, but I've got card with a rubbish/noisy aluminium? cooler

Also makes a difference...the one pictured is with a zalman cooler...3850 HD don't normally come with that cooler...

I'm thinking something seriously wrong with Play during this recession.

Long live AGP! Very good price but the rest of my specs are crud so not worth upgrading ;/

I agree. I have had loads of trouble with Play. Items faulty, damaged in transit or even lost when returned for refund. Customer service and quality not as it once was.

Look at the specs of your psu, your looking for this:
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationalevents/computex2007/TS/Fri/IMG_5336-big.jpg
(not my psu or image)
See how the power is distributed?
On cheap psu's usually half is devoted to 3v and 5v, which of course only leaves 250w for the rest of the power hungry parts.

In this case, you want to look at your 12v power.

I've got this data
+12V V1 = 18A
+12V V2 = 18A
+12V V3 = 18A
+3.3V = 24A
+5V = 15A

don't know how good it is tho and how true the data is. But anyway, with new catalyst release, it seems work better, despite these lags still occur.
p.s. when I am playing speed of fan in this psu is increasing dramatically and it become quite noisy.

Check your temps using that. Also might be able to get some more info on it like vddc etc

Real specs say this: http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/psu_arctic_power_500-600-700.htm

Only 18A x 12v = 216w. Remember that is in an ideal world.

Most likely your going to see around %70 of that power which is around 150w. That is everything that pulls 12v is competing for power.

What else have you got in your system?

Also from legitreviews:

96 watts at idle and 195 watts at peak load for this system:
Q9650
Gigabyte X38DQ6
Corsair PC2-8500 4GB
Western Digital SATA 250Gb
Corsair HX620W

I would test today, thanks for info.
What happened yesterday, I've installed Splinter Cell: Conviction, and on the mission when you are in Iraq ( there are a lot of fire, etc.) card switched itself off for period 10 secs and back on again. Then playing for one minute and again switch itself off for period of time and than again back on.
Obviously there is may be 2 problems: temperature or most probable lack of power...
My specs is:
Prescott 3.2
2.5Gb Ram
3HDD (2IDE, 1SATA)
1dwd

Cooling on processor is good, so it is not the problem.

I would try today to make dual power with my second psu, which I would connect to graphic card only, anyway if it would (I hope) work, would look for some better psu.
I would let you know about results. Thanks bro

Yep, it was the temperature problem indeed.
I hotwired 2psu's, my old one running card only and rubbish new one - motherboard, hdd's etc.
Still got lags after running on two psu's.
But yesterday, ran cooler which were built in my case. massive one and quite approx 30 cm in diameter lol and played in Assassin Creed 2 for quite long time without any lags, same GTA4.
Hopefully sorted.
Anyway, I've noticed there is chip covered with thermal pad on the other side of card (check picture) which gets really hot, can't hold my finger there, if it's were the case, why they are making such are stupid cooling?

I've tried gpu-z, but it is logging only during 1st minute, don't know why. So, obviously card not reaching those temperature probably at this short period of time

Need to install something more deep then, tried using rivatuner?

The Msi Afterburner might be happy running on your card, but it is just the same as rivatuner with a easier to use interface.

Both utilities use graphs and can save logs so you can get more info on the card.

Hopefully you can show it is overheating and either get a refund or an rma.

tested, maximum temp 69 C, without fan and started to lag sometimes. With fan working no problem...
I think they would not replace it, as they would say it works without problems... blah-blah...
Anyway, thanks for help mate.
