ATI Radeon HD2600XT Chipset
256MB GDDR3 Memory
PCI-E Interface
Dual DVI-I / HDTV Out
Microsoft DirectX 10.0 Support

Web Special price to Collect @ store.
Checked usual sellers (Aria, eBuyer, etc) and much cheaper.

Old card now but powerful enough for most modern games at normal resolutions.
Low power so it will easily fit into most PC's.
Thought it was a good deal at a good price.

This is the cheapest I have seen the ATI Radeon HD2600XT graphics card for. Plus in collect in store deals on items such as this do help.

I paid £75 for this about 6 months ago - decent card and was very highly regarded when I bought it.

With HD4850s around £100, and AMD about to release two lower chips (RV710 and RV730, one may be 320 shaders, the other 40 or 80) it might be worth seeing what they will be priced at - you could get something significantly better than a HD2600XT (e.g., equal to a HD3870) for £60 very soon, and the other product will be even cheaper.

But it's a good price for PC World. Good choice for a media box as well.

Cold, with the 3850 £10 more expensive there's really no reason to get this card. If you just want it for media center use then save yourself some money and get a 3450 at almost half the price.

Nice maths there!?

But that does cost nearly 50% more.

Technology sure moves quickly. Infact, this is moving at it's fastest. Slashing prices everywhere, unlike stuff like cpu coolers. Christ, good price for now but what about tomorrow?

Problem is availability (And it's nearly £20 more)......Will it ever be available again at that price?
I was looking at the 3450, but many reviewers say the 2600XT model out performs the 3450.
Incidently the 3450 is the same price at PC world as the 2600XT.

Recommended purely because I have an Acer PC (And most people will have a branded PC) with a limited PSU.
The 3850 would not be supported by the PSU and I would have needed to upgrade the PSU also taking the budget beyond what I can afford

A £40.00 only upgrade for a card that is rated at 5.9 in Vista and runs games very well, I thought was a bargain.:)
