This is a PCI-E X1800 - a few months ago this was considered a very quick card, and as an all in wonder throws a hybrid (analogue/dvb-t) tv tuner and video in/out (s-video, composite and component if I'm correct) into the mix

with new models out these are going at a snip, scan have them still listed at £140 (thats a retail version though)

Notes:

This is an OEM card, so wont come with the software bundle (which had both adope premiere elements and photoshop elements) - and likely no remote either.

As I type there are 2 left on superspecial ad £30 + vat + del - which is the deal I took myself

First post, be gentle!

*wishes he knew how to edit the word "adobe" in to hide a typo*

Edit: and perhaps the word "at" as well :(

One reason these cards are cheap is that the TV tuner and video capture elements are not supported in Vista at all! Fine if you're sticking to XP or just need a decent graphics card though...

just clicked on deal .......is an XL card ....ok but not as good as the XT version .. plus the price is 53.88 ( cant do a pound sign for some reason ) . someone cant do maths :P

good price spheric.
#5
Actually it's £43.36 as they now have more on special....no change with Aria's habits then:giggle:
Good price, high postage...still bought one though:whistling:
Heat and rep added

Google Checkout as well - does that offer an additional discount?

This any better than a 6600? The TV tuner is a nice bonus and I need a GFX card upgrade... This or a PoV 7600GT?
#9
I have a 7600GT and find it struggles a bit with new games and demos (have to turn them down to lower settings or resolutions).

Seem a bit sharp on T&C's charging 10% for refused deliveries, a restocking fee in all but name

Anyone know which courier they use?

does this card definitely have component video in? im interested in buying if it have. its out of stock on superspecial tho :(.. im in manchester so i can save in posting if i go and pick up :D

I have an x1800xt. I don't know if this is that card with the aiw bolted on but the x1800xt can handle any DX9 game up to 1280x1024. I have got a widescreen monitor now and it is getting a bit long in the tooth to push DX9 around at 1680x1050.

Im getting it as an alternative to a 8600gt - not because I expect it to beat it on performance, I expect the 8600gt to be noticeably (perhaps up to 8-10%) quicker but because I was also going to buy a tv tuner, so instead of paying £60 + vat for a graphics card, and another £20 + vat for a tv tuner, I get both, in one card, for £30 + vat (all those are + delivery as well).

As for couriers, I've had stuff from Aria turn up by citylink and in the post: - I'm hoping for the latter as that would likely have it arrive Saturday ;)

as for component, I'll give a definate answer on receipt: reviews seem to suggest that it does, but I never bank on this sort of thing until I see it in the flesh

Whoever has expired the deal has done so incorrectly, confusing the posted deal with those on superspecial: - the price posted was the non-superspecial price.

Edit: the info specifically mentions the YPrPb adapter, - so I now expect it to component ;)

This card does do component. I have the AIW 2006 which is before this and has component support. I'm thinking of going for this for better gaming performance at this price.

for anyone still watching: this card came with a molex -> pci-e power converter, a male-male coax converter (for the antenna) and a dvi -> component converter.

So no remote, as anticipated, and no breakout box.

Mine came with the same.
The breakout box is that the IO connector with the scart connection on? if so were could i get one seperate anybody know?
#19
after looking at the pictures on a review site earlier, it looks like the ATI IO connector *is* the one with the scart on it. - only place I've seen selling it is ATI themselves, and no idea if they would ship to the UK

Folks,

Just got this from Aria -

Hi David, it seems our supplier let us down on this card and did not initially supply the correct breakout cable, we have since received the missing cables and I will get one posted out to you tonight.

Kind Regards
Chris Shackleton

So if anyone else finds themselves without the VGA breakout cable, drop them a line and it should be on its way. Took them three hours to reply to my email, but, ah, should be here by the morning.
