Looked about 20 minutes ago, supersaver stock ran out.

I have a 6800 GT. How much better is this card?

I see it is only Direct X 9 - i was saving for a direct x 10 and would only pay 40 odd quid for this if it was substantionally better. Could anyone advise please.
#5
how do you get £43.36 delivered?
site states that it is £46.94 inc. VAT and thats before delivery
#6
Go to supersaver section and graphics cards, it's £35 before postage, but none in stock. Great card at the supersaver price.
#7
That card is quite a bit better, i'll try and get some benchmarks for you. Could sell your 6800GT to make it even cheaper. http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2006.html?modelx=33&model1=538&model2=553&chart=196
Get your graphics card and the X1800XL and click go, show you how much better it is.

withdrew all my available funds out to buy something, then changed my mind, can't withdraw from savings. I'll get one in the morning if you they have them in stock.
#19
Does anybody know if this will work with Windows Media Center in Vista??
#20
No reason why it shouldn't
#21
Ok after doing a wee bit of research it seems the TV side of these cards is not supported by Windows Vista or XP 64 bit, so avoid if you have these o/systems.

Any links you can provide us with. BTW, it seems that these cards are from Gecube... Could anyone confirm?
#23
If you do a search for "Hexus Forums" on google, and then go to "Shopping and Retail Therapy" you will find a thread on this very card.

{Don't want to post a direct link incase it's against forum rules.}

It's pretty good for the price. If I hadn't bought the 7300le (a vastly inferior card when compared with this one) the other week I'd seriously be considering this.
#26
aria has added some more of these cards again as of 10:30am they are showing 11 available

...buts its more expensive isnt it at £39.95 ex vat and delivery....ie £53 delivered...?

Also I dont think we ever got to the bottom as to wether the TV tuner part (not the graphics card part) is supported under Vista...
#28
yup more expensive now even tho they are in stock
too lat again .. damn it.
thanks tho

These cards (or at least the TV portion) are definitely not Vista compliant - if you go the drivers website at :

http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32

It states:

"All-in-Wonder™ boards operate with AMD Windows Vista-Ready Display Drivers under the Windows Vista Operating System. However there is currently no software application which provides TV/Capture functionality for All-in-Wonder™ boards under Windows Vista."

I think this is because AIW cards use software decoding of the TV signal, rather than using an on-board processor. Consequently there have been issues (or ATi can't be bothered with essentially obsolete cards) writing driver software for Vista. Hope this helps.
#30
yea they seem to have hiked the price after i posted it was still at the lower price this morning
think their just trying to cash in on how well the cards have been selling
#31
does this fit into a dell Vostro 200 or do we need a new power supply ?
#32
Well my parcel arrived this morning...open it up and there it was...2 x pen drives...seems some chap in Stroud had my gfx card...yet more of Arias's usual keen attention to detail :)
#33
got mine today - don't know why I bothered! The cards missing the VITAL input output lead, it's got the brick, the dvi to component dongle and the internal power cable, but the card can't be connected to the brick with the outputs on!

Update - a quick call to Aria and they have had a few of these so are sending one out :). If you've got one without phone them up or email them to get the cable.

Cheers to op

Ramtec,

This here's a photo of the stuff I got with mine. What parts have you got that my bundle misses out?

(Also, to everyone wondering about Vista compatibility, I run a dual-boot and I'll find out what the story is for you once Aria finish sending me my bits)

Ok, so mine arrived today and I've got the same CD, the same power cable, the same DVI to RGB convertor but I've also got a massive av in box and cable (ati cable model av_in part 6110019800 - if that helps!). Don't have what looks like the end of a co ax cable though?

Good good, might have to dual boot my vostro 200 if I can with an old XP disc if I can't get the tv functionality working under vista (what a hassle that will be to set up!)

First impression is just how huge the card is, it's longer than my foot!
