Got my Audi A3 serviced this week and to my surprise I was also treated to a complimentary MOT.

My car is on a longlife service which means approx 20k milles between servicing, it was due for its major service which included all the filters being changed and the oil.
Past experience with Audi main dealers at least £300.

However they are currently running a special offer for Audi cars over 3 years old and upto 2litre engine, £99 for a standard service and £199 for the major service (I paid £225 which also included a pollen filter change).

Full details on Audi website, this is nationwide.

Also got my MOT for free (Saving £50), however you can pay and get an insurance to cover against your next MOT, if the car fails Audi will cover the cost of repairs upto £750 subject to T&Cs.

My car passed the MOT (so no catches there) and was given a full complimentary valet.

If you think an MOT is £50 no matter where you go, the actual service is only costing you £50. Far cheaper than most back street garages.

T&Cs

* Privately owned Audi vehicles over 36 months old from date of registration. Up to and including 2.0 litre engines for A2, A3, A4, A6 and TT. Prices subject to change without notice. Prices include VAT at 15% and parts and labour. Major Service includes oil change, oil filter change, health and safety check, air filter, fuel filter (if diesel), spark plugs (if petrol). Interim service includes oil change, oil filter change, health and safety check. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Excludes Channel Isles.

Which audi dealer is yours, because i know mine Bradford are really expensive and they all ways find something wrong with mine!..

I bet that 99 quid only gets you a lubrication service.
Thats what VW charge for this.
They ask around £180 for a "proper" service.

Cardiff Audi. Never had this problem personally but you do hear stories from others.
What I find is they list things just to cover themselves, like I was told the intercooler seal was leaking at the last service, still no problems 2 years on and on this occasion they made no mention of it.

In your original post it says £99 for a "standard" service,
In your last post it says "interim" service.
Are they the same?

And £180 also for an "improper" servce. I stopped using any Audi Main Dealer in the UNITED KINGDOM since my "F" Registration Audi in 1990. They always find something wrong when there is nothing wrong... this included "new gearbox", "new rear axel bearing" etc. all discovered in one single service after my Audi did 18,000 from new... this was 1990 and the bill came to £1500 IN 1990! I refused to have any of it done then they offered a reduced total price of £900 using allegedly refurbished part....refurbished parts eehhhh ? More like leaving the parts that were there. After I did 75000 miles I took it to Stuttgart Audi Main Dealer, the foreman after servicing my Audi said that the people in UK are world famous and their ability to "repair" using more parts than anywhere else in Europe. The Audi cars are excellent though, I am running one now at 184,000 miles..just had another MOT last month, ashame about the exorbitant prices for proper service and repair though...

A full valet? Doubt it, because Audi charges the best part of a ton just for that. If you bring your car in for anything, you get a complementary wash and brush up, but no more than that.

Audi owners can register on their website for their next MOT to be free anyway:- http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/owners_area/Servicing_with_Audi/free-mot.html

"If your Audi is more than three years old, it must undergo an MOT every year. As an Audi owner you can now benefit from having your next test carried out for free. So you can sit back and relax while we take care of your MOT.

If a repair is required, your car is in the hands of the experts in Vorsprung durch Technik. And what’s more, our Audi Genuine parts and labour come with a two-year guarantee*. Naturally there are no hidden charges and no extra work would be carried out without your permission.

Arranging your MOT through us ensures that it won’t just be your car that receives the highest levels of care and service. As for the price, that couldn’t be simpler. It’s absolutely free."

If you look at your Audi service book there are 2 types of service (Standard / interim) which is basically an oil and filter change along with a bit of lube here and there and the general checks of engine coolant etc, they call it a safety check.

The other type is the major service, on my car its every 60k miles and covers all filters along with the standard oil and filter change and safety checks.

So for me its either a standard every 20k mile service or an every 60k mile major service.

Then theres the additional work outside of these services, brake fluid change , gearbox oil etc etc.

Well I was impressed, when they told me the car has had complementary valet I thought yeah right, but in all honesty it was a good job.
Full body wash & Wax with a chamois dry, car tyres were sprayed or painted to make them look like new.
Inside the car was given a full vacuum and clean, dashboard shine , glass clean etc.
Throw away foot mats left to protect newly cleaned carpet.

Not bad I thought, they did'nt have to do it, doubt you would get that at ATS , National or one of the other big names
