What's the finish like on the speakers? Hard to tell from the pics but have a fear they may be just a *bit* cheap... is it like silver paint?

Reviews of the sound quality sound amazing though.

Finish is absolute quality, brushed aluminium not like silver paint at all.

Seems a good bargain will use these to replace the ones that came with my Dell pc :)

Many have received faulty units from this company. Be warned.
The amplifiers can become faulty after several weeks, however their customer support are very helpful.
I went through two of these units before getting a refund.

I would rather pay more and have a unit I know will last.

Wasn't the last time they were posted for 'refurb' speakers? Apparently these are 'brand new' with a full year's warranty.

Pity they can't also play a CD & cassette - can't be bothered to digitise all my music :p

I was actually a bit disappointed with the sound quality of these - there's nothing wrong with it as such but I've heard better, and for less money. Kind of wish I'd gone for the Kilpsch set.

WARNING!!!!

Make sure you check the speakers over carefully i have had 3 of the first offer and both were broken. The first set i had the speaker cables kept falling out the bottom, the second ans third developed a loud hiss which then turned into a very loud banging sound. Also after doing some research i found that theres something abit funny about them. On the bottom of the speakers and the amp theres an area for a serial number on the big pockets units this is blank. I contacted Audica who told me that these speakers are "not geniune stock" and they cannot honnor the warrenty.

but other than that the speakers look good very heavy. the buttons on the amp feel abit cheap for a unit that costs £200+ and the sound quality is ok. i was abit dissapointed in the sound in general as for a £200+ unit but a good buy for £90 if you can get some good ones.

Oh and the first batch big pockets had were also brand new 1 year rtb.

Can I use this with my PS3?

Got these the last time and they look excellent and sound excellent. Ordered another set for my dad as he fell in love with the set the minute he heard and saw them.

Ordered yesterday, delivered today - excellent stuff :)

Can anyone tell me if they have a serial number on the bottom?

All I can say is - wow. Despite theire diminutive size, there's a lack of ear-jarring resonance or colouration. No muddy, over-empahasised boom-box bass. Natural sounding strings, piano, guitar and voice. Real separation of instruments and timbre. And a superbly precise stereo sound stage, even with the speakers fully apart. Even listening at my desk with them at low volume is a joy. Plus they look fantastic too.

These totally blow away any "PC" speakers, and my JBL Ipod dock as well. If sound quality means more to you than "crank up the bass" (even though they will go loud), I'd say take the plunge.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like they've mended their ways

Still worth checking every one anyone receives.

Unline some of the ones mentioned in the last offer, this time the packaging on mine was fully sealed, and had that distinctive "brand new" smell out of the box.

My MPS-1 seems to have gone the way of many others - constant hissing through speakers, even when in standby, and very loud clicks on the right channel when changing inputs or volume. Not the quality product it aspired to be, then. Anyone had any repair experience with Audica?
