The last time this was posted some folk said this was almost rubbish if using with any standard car.

They said it was more use if using with a motor bike.

Can't find the original thread for it.

Whoever said that are talking nonsense :)

I have one, bought from Netto last year, and works perfectly. I was told that it would not work on a 3 litre diesel - glad I took no notice! ;-)

just make sure you keep it charged up. if it goes totally flat even for a short period of time it soon packs in altogether. for the price certainly they're worth a shot but on an ice cold winter morning and you're trying so start a big diesel, if it doesnt start after the first few seconds, you'll be late for work alright! :w00t:

I have a flat battery at the moment. It is a 16v Honda car. Will this item be any good. I notice it says 12v in the title. I am not too clever when it comes to cars. Does this thng get charged up on a normal mains charger indoors????

Sorry mate, but that made me chuckle.

16V on your car is 16 valves - to do with the engine.
12V on this is 12 VOLTS - to do with the battery/electrical syste,

Your car will very very likely (like 99% sure - some very much older cars have 6 volt systems IIRC and some vans have 24 volt) be a 12 volt electrical system and compatible with this just fine.

Its hot from me, good deal at that price but waiting for stock. You can register for email alerts when back in stock.

Bear in mind you use these for emergencies they will not suit all cars and you could still end up stranded - you would be lucky if it starts stuff over 2 litres but it would have to be full charged and the car would probably have to start first time.

I borrow my neighbours regularly and it always struggles and ended up cycling very late a couple of times!

Even if these dont manage to start your car, they are well worth the money for the in-built compressor and
12v DC cigarette lighter socket.. Great deal. Pitty I missed out. I paid 22 quid for one from QD and was skipping for ages as the on I had bought before (and lost the charger for) was 68 pounds.

PS the charger fitted both.

Ummm, I dont think using things like this is really for you....in fact, I don't think it's a good idea for you to raise the bonnet (the bit at the pointy end of the car)
