What type of cloth/spong do you guys recommend as the best choice for cleaning??
#3
Lambswool wash mitt for cleaning then rinse and dry. Glass cloth for the windows (like a spontex one from Asda or something.)

I am loving microfibre cloths at the moment for polishing. But there are better ways, they require way to much effort though!

PS - This is a good deal.

I also recommend the Glass Polish they sell, its in a liquid form so there are no smears whatsoever. And by liquid I mean a cream not a horrible spray that hits everything!!

perfect for cleaning away the ash

I am a huge fan of Autoglym Aqua Wax, cover everything in it and use the two cloths provided, contains carnuba (sp?) wax so gives a brilliant shine!

Wow. This is a damn good buy. I bought a 1 litre bottle for £9 and thought that was an awesome deal. Also this polish is very very good. It has fillers that will fill the scratches and gives an excellent shine. Lasts about 3 months i'd say. Just apply using a small sponge in circular or back and forth motion. Press down gently and then once hazed up use a microfibre cloth to remove. Better to do 2 panels then wipe first one and do another ,etc. Here is a pic of my bmw 530i m sport after autoglym

Very nice  Think my black 1 series should look as nice n shiny once I'm done :)

Super Resin Polish is one of the most under rated car products out there. It's great at filling in minor scratches and swirls. Top it off with a quality wax and jobs a goodun.

Old bag of spanners !

Never use sponges on a car as they cause the light scratches you see in certain light. The Best thing to wash a car is a genuine Sheepskin/Lambswool Mitt £5-£10. The Best cloth for detailing is a good quality micro fibre cloth, to apply polishes and waxes a microfibre pad is used by the professionals £3-£7 for a small pack. Have a look at http://www.autopia.org

The shine on the car, or the polish in the bottle?
#13
will be checking my local sainsburys any proof of purchase?

HOT!! Awesome for hiding the damage you caused by taking your pride and joy to the local automatic car wash...

No excuse for not polishing my car now!

Only about 6 bottles of Fast Glass left at Shrewsbury, since I went and cleared 10 bottles of it and the last 8 bottles of polish off the shelves!

If you're in Shrewsbury, send me a PM. I can let you have a bottle of polish and a couple of the glass cleaner.

The rest are accounted for already.

CHEERS O.P.

Sainsburys Murrayfield had 16 glass cleaners and 8 polish left after i`d stocked up.

So ready to smarten up the car and then had to call the AA out to the car park to get me going, typical.

Doesnt matter how much you polish a turd its still a turd:w00t:

Not a bad polish for filling minor scratches, but it will wash away over time. If you want to correct the scratches in the clear coat, you'll want a more aggressive cutting compound, but scratch correction by hand is largely a waste of time anyway/

Heat for the price :) But expect swirls/holograms to come back within 3 months as the polymide filler washes away slowly.
#25
You missed a bit, good deal

Kirkcaldy branch doesnt even sell it.......thats bad!!!

Seal the polish with their top coat product, make s the shine amazing and it lasts so much longer

"If you would like to achieve the ultimate paintwork finish, as demanded by the perfectionist this is the product for you.

Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection is an extra tough, protective sealant that contains a complex blend of hard resins and waxes. Treated surfaces are protected with a super-tough finish to keep paintwork looking brilliant for longer.

This durable deep gloss film is suitable for all types of automobile paintwork, including metallic, clearcoat and waterbased finishes.

Unlike a polish, it contains no cleaning or polishing agents and should only be used on clean, dry, blemish-free paintwork, ideally pre-treated with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

The resultant highly durable, deep gloss finish provides an extra tough barrier against most environmental contaminants."

SRP is a great product ...

But the Fast Glass is way overrated IMO ..... bought it for £6 or £7 last summer and found it pretty ropey for cleaning glass (It cleans LCD screens amazingly though and leaves them completely blemish free)

I ended up picking up a Turtle Wax Nano Glass cleaner (Bright green bottle) for £1 in Home bargains and it cleans the glass far quicker and better than the Fast Glass.

Still a bargain though even if it is not as good as people say.

Thanks, will look in my local

I must admit I dont spend as much time as I used to keeping my cars nice, but when I was on top of my game.

I would use the Autoglym Pink for scratches.

Super Resin Polish for the top coat, and for extra shine, I would be using Collinite 476S - This is one of the best waxes you can buy and it lasts for ages.

Just picked up a couple of bottles for £1.74 each. Incidently, I have just subscribed to "What Car" for 6 months at £21.60 which includes a free (yes I know I had to buy the magazine subscription) Autglym valeting kit which includes this polish values around £40

Go to www.magazineshop.com and use code M0410P for those who can't get this deal and maybe want a set plus 6 months of What Car

I can confirm that Guildford's Burpham store has lots of stock. Just been in and picked up a few bottles of polish.

Still 20+ bottles of the Super Resin Polish, and 10+ bottles of Fast Glass.

They also had 15+ bottles of Auto Glym car shampoo, though at a more regular £4.99 price.

The bottles of polish are the smaller 350(ish)ml size but still a cracking deal at this price. The equivalent 1litre price for a bottle I got from Halfords the other weekend was about £18.

None in Staines :( was told they dont do car shampoo ... its a big enough store though!

Nice voted hot, my cousin uses this stuff, good stuff... If you have a black car I can seriously recommend Meguiar's stuff, you'll find it in halfords and decent car garages. Think they have 3 for 2 on all cleaning products well they did last week I think - halfords that is.

Hot!! Just picked up 20 bottles in my local store!

Only kidding I took what I needed, 2 Resin polish and 1 fast Glass was plenty of bottles im my store

Great deal
