Remote controlled garage door opener. See website for full details. This seems relatively inexpensive although I have no idea whether this particular one is any good at all. Must be worth a look though.

Man that's funny though my missus seems somewhat upset by your comment for some reason!

I wish I had a garage just to be able to buy this!

DO note the last item of 'small print':

NOT SUITABLE FOR GARAGE DOORS WITH VERTICAL RUNNERS

which will I think rule out loads of us.

Canopy Type Garage Door (no good for remote doors)
Up and Over
This type of garage door normally has rollers running vertically on the door posts and large spring across the top of the door.
When fully open, the door does not retract all the way in to the garage but leaves a section creating a canopy in front of the garage.
These doors do not have horizontal runners into the garage.

Retractable Type Garage Door (perfect for garage remotes)
Up and Over
This type of garage door normally runs on a track along the roof of your garage. Usually large springs can be seen on both sides of the door.
When fully open the door usually retracts all the way inside the garage

Having had a company that sells automatic garage doors I would like to add that you can get an adaptor kit for automatic garage door openers to make them suitable for up and over garage doors

Here, get a Ferrari to go in your garage for 4p at this link:
www.no.where ... See, we can all make pointless links that dont actually go to anything like that stated in the post title. Just in case the sarcasm isn't getting through, there isn't anything to do with garage door openers at the link given.

Note Netto dont give refunds only store credit (so I was told). So make sure it fits before you buy!

I got a cheapo one once from Lidl, was about £100 then. Kept going wrong and was a pain in the ass, had 3 in a 1 yeat period. Got a Liftmaster one now on a double door. A bit dearer but worth every penny and hasnt let me down once in 4 years. They start at £129.99 her http://www.easygates.co.uk/LM60.HTM

It's funny - I'm about to sell my electric Garage system (motor plus shutters) on eBay but if there are any UKhotdealers out there that want to get in first with this fantastic offer please let me know. It's in mint condition and am only selling because I'm turning my garage into a room. I've seen similar units go for £550 plus so my offer for this 2yr old model at £200 is a bargain.

email me at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for more info.
BTW pickup only in Hertfordshire region (nr Watford)

I agree, bring back the old HUKD, the forum was much easier to find and see updates, trying to track forum updates is a nightmare now that it is integrated. I don’t mind the rest of the layout. But big mistake with the Forum.

If you bothered looking properly, you'd have seen this deal was over 3 months old.

No idea why it is now on page 2 of Hot deals. It was genuine at the time.
#26
Who cares about a garage door opener that doesn't fit most garage doors? Great thread though, with some top gags!
#27
how are the hot deals ordered:thinking:

How on earth did this re-surface 3 months after the event? It's got me completely baffled!!
