I was looking for a bluetooth transmitter, initially, so I can use my mp3 player with my bluetooth speaker and headphones and then I came across this, which doubles as a receiver too, so I can use it with my hi-fi and surround sound speakers via my phone. It's a little more expensive than some standalone transmitters but I read a lot of reviews which were very positive.

Good battery life and supports A2DP and AVRCP bluetooth profiles.

Amazon had it at around £28. Couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.

Worth getting the version with Apt-x. How do you pair it with the speakers as I thought one side of the connection had to be a device like a phone that could be used to control the pairing.

I bought the aptx version, it seemed to be faulty. It worked with non aptx headphones but kept badly crackling with aptx headphones

You might have me there. Still, it will work with some of my devices so all is not lost.

I have the APTX versions there is also an updated BT4 vers from the makers avantree they sent me a free 1 a few months ago as my earlier vers from 7day wouldn't connect to my aptx headphones, avantree even sent me free 2nd one by mistake on the avantree website they retailed for approx. $90. I wouldn't listen wirelessly ever without APTX best quality audio.

Did you contact them direct. I sent my APTX headphones back thinking it was them as it worked on non APTX headphones but since buying a different transmitter I realised it was the Avantree unit.

Just a little update on this that no one will ever read but it does automatically pair with my BT speaker. No need for pin codes.
