Can get this on prescription if you have skin problems like eczema. I've had eczema for 20 years and this is easily the best option.

My son was recently given this on prescription but the doctor has said after it had been used up we would have to buy our own as it won't be on repeat prescription - just wondered if you have encountered this ?

If your son requires it for a skin condition then explain to your doctor he is entitled to have it prescribed on an ongoing basis and that you know of others who get it on prescription.

I'm not 100% sure, it might vary from GP to GP? I'm on my third prescription bottle but paid for it before that as I wasn't aware I could get it on prescription. I would also recommend acupuncture if you can afford it and if your son is old enough? My eczema was terrible but after a few treatments it cleared up by 75% I would say.

if you can afford to buy it outright please buy out of pocket. you don't realise how much the NHS gets charged by GPs for prescribed meds and creams. penny wise, pound foolish.

I think whether or not aveeno is available on prescription depends on your NHS local authority/trust etc.

There is no significant evidence that eczema can be helped by inserting needles in a few specific points in order to restore the flow of life energy. There's a reason you can't get it free that often on the NHS and it's only recommended for a few specific conditions.

I've been getting it for years, a nurse once told me they just don't like giving it out because it is expensive. If it works, I would push them to give it to you.
