Good deal to watch a footy game but not a good deal to watch either of these two teams lol.

Heat added anyway :p
I'm still protesting at the McCliesh appointment for the first few games.

not that it will bother Mr Lerner, It's the principle though.
Your going to need a security guard to when these two teams meet!
I see Villa are already off to a winning start against Blackburn, earlier today. Lets see if they can keep that up !

Yep, been to the last few fixtures against Wigan and they always seem to get the better of us at home so hoping for a good performance and three points out of this one.
Another great deal from the Villa, hopefully these will continue next season...

yeah will continue as they'll be trying to entice people to watch championship football ;-) boing boing!

just kidding cocker, i think villa will be fine anyway but hope you get the points. big up the midlands teams!!

Thank you, I wasn't aware the internet had reached West Bromwich yet!
Having watched the Baggies at Villa Park this season I still rate them as one of the better sides we played this season and, unlike our derby games against the Blues, games against the Baggies are always an entertaining and enjoyable watch, usually ending in three points for the Villa... except once every 26 years!

Please only comment if you club has lifted the european cup, not run like a clown college by a "newcastle fan". To be a Newcastle fan is to have a carrot dangled over your head with a fishing rod - "oooh maybe we'll get it soon". UTV

Oh yeah, in 1982, right? The same year that (similarly no longer relevant) Buck's Fizz got to number one in the UK with "The Land Of Make Believe". Which, coincidentally enough, is where you're living if you think one European Cup (were you even born then?) is a requisite to having and voicing an opinion... but of course, if that helps you blank out the memories of your 6-0 humbling at the hands of a newly-promoted side, a on a day when such footballing luminaries as Xisco, James Perch, Wayne Routledge and Alan Smith were on the pitch... then more power to you.

Would I rather give a fellow premier league team a hiding 6-0 or beat Bayern Munich 1-0 to lift the european cup? Tough one, I may need to consult the pop charts from a couple of months ago before I reach my decision!

Depends how far in the past you want to live.

Yes it does, but history is a large part of football - no one will take 66' away from us, 82' from me or August 2010 from you. I hope it's a real kick in the teeth when Bent scores on Sunday.

Don't mind if he does score, last time he scored against us, we bagged five at the other end.

Were you there on the last day of 08-09, when Villa fans greeted our impending relegation with pre-printed banners and spent more of the game singing songs about us than their own team? Pretty uncalled for, and frankly embarrasing (it's small club syndrome...), given the complete lack of any preceding bad blood between the two clubs. Perhaps now, facing as you are the same prospect, Villa fans will understand the perils of laughing at other's misfortune, and why we're so fired up about this game.

I wasn't, but it's just football banter, don't take it to heart, it would be the same for any other team and more so for clubs closer to home. We would understand, it's just other fans, you have to take it on the chin. Not to the same scale, but it's the same when teams are chasing champions league spots and they are getting beaten by say fulham and the fans sing "Champions league your having a laugh...." - it has nothing to do with them, they are not their rivals, but it's just banter - another part of football.

Normally I'd put it down to that, and welcome and revel in it - let's face it, winding up ManYoo fans will never, EVER get old - but I was quite shocked at the lengths the Villa fans had gone to in mocking us, it just seemed totally unnecessary. Relegation is a painful prospect for any fan, knowing that you're going to see your team lose whatever reasonably decent players you have (we were 'lucky' that our few talented players like Coloccini, Jonas, Barton, Nolan and Enrique had played so badly all season nobody wanted to buy them and the ones we did sell, for the most part, the fans wanted them gone) and watch a season of second-tier football, not to mention the worry that you might not bounce straight back - I wouldn't wish it on anyone or mock any other fan for it... well, perhaps them down the road, but that's always gone deeper than football.

Anyway, best of luck for the game, I'm hoping we get the three points to put some ghosts to rest, but more importantly to cement our top-flight status.

Likewise, I will check back her after - I may not respond

That is awful, another one for the crap football song vault. However, it's not what you sing, it's how loud - and it needs to be louder than that.

Yeah i think Bent will do well at the villa, is he worth that kind of money? remains to be seen. I think most clubs in the premiership (outside the top 6) would like have Robbie Keane in their squad.

For the first time in four years Villa will find themselves outside the top 6 and yet it would appear that Villa comfortably chose Bent over Keane. Villa have had too many strikers who seem eager to do everything but score. Finally they have a player who's focus is putting the ball in the back of the net.

There's no problem, every club does it... But how many of them go to the game from the deal being on this site? maybe 50(max)? The other 3,000 or whatever you quoted would be from word of mouth from fellow fans (hence why i don't bother posting Birmingham deals).
Nope... you've lost me.
I think he is implying that less than 50 people take up the ticket related offers posted on this site.I think he got it mixed up with Blues average away following.

To be a true fan you have to go to as many games as you can , for example i used to be a season ticket holder but now i am at uni i go to all the games i am back in Birmingham for. However i listen to every game on BRMB and never miss a blues game on match of the day or sky = true fan. Other examples would be to go to every game you can afford to go to...

Nice way of justifying your non-attendance. Be honest with yourself, you're no longer a "true fan" by your own definition - you've found out that sometimes theres more to life. Nothing to be ashamed of.

more cheap tickets the better, i used to follow Sunderland up and down the country late 80s & 90s, just too expensive now, i.e. £38 to get into villa park and they are by no means the most expensive.
i have to pick and choose my games these days, i will be at villa but sitting in a ST holders seat who doesnt want to go to that game.

fair enough bcfc aint the best supported team in the prem, but to say they are nearer walsalls level than villas was a bit below the belt lol. always find bcfc edgy to go to , never enjoy it much, never had a problem at villa like.

You'll need a restricted view to hide yourself from Arsenal's filthy play that they try to call "football"

Usual cr4p comments when a football deal comes up!
And of course all the other so-called professional teams play perfect football - NOT!
Villain are in for a thrashing btw!

how is it cr4p? facts don't lie (fair play table as linked), Arsenal are filth, always have been.

they were not last year as they were top of the chart.
pdbis
The people who should buy restricted tickets are those who seem to spend most of the match going back and forth/toilet to the bar.

lol totally agree mate, those do my head in. Leaving seats 15 mins before half time just to tank up on pints....what the hell is up with that :(
The people who should buy restricted tickets are those who seem to spend most of the match going back and forth/toilet to the bar.
The restricted view at Villa just means behind the goal at pitch level so the only restriction is that its difficult to see the other end of the pitch sometimes, I should know Im a season ticket holder in those seats and its a great view in my opinion. Their no real restricted view seats at Villa park.
£20 for restricted view is a disgrace

this is what you would normally expect to pay at a top flight German/ Italian game never mind restricted view at a middle of the table Premiership team

Do Villa have an auto cup scheme for STH's where you tick a box for each tournament and they automatically debit your bank and send you the tickets / activate your card?

Yes they do. It's not per tournament, just all 'cup' games. Get to keep my seat and the club doesn't take the p!ss with cup game prices.8)

£2 per booking regardless of number of tickets, so not too bad when you're buying 4 or 6 etc but a bit rubbish when you're buying 1 or 2.
Suppose that's not too bad if you're buying a few tickets at a time and have tickets for mates to buy etc. At Liverpool they charge per ticket so it's an extra 50p for each ticket.
villan57
I've never paid a booking fee but I am a season ticket holder . Blackpool game is on a Wednesday night and Blackpool won't take their allocation so the club sell the lower tier to Villa fans cheap . All clubs need to start bringing realistic with their pricing or the game is going to die .

Oh right so do season ticket holder not have to pay the booking fee at Villa? Season ticket holders don't any discounts at Liverpool whatsoever nor do Everton STH's I don't think. I like what Celtic do where STH's get an equivalent discount for all cup games which basically makes the ticket work out at the same price as what they play for league games.

To the previous two guys: ring up the number.
It's likely a problem with your account.
Anyone actually managed to get tickets for this?
I don't have the correct privileges
Created an Account. Tried to all three packages. Each time got:

WE'RE SORRY!

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS TIME YOU DON'T HAVE THE CORRECT PRIVILEGES ON YOUR ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR THIS PACKAGE. WHY NOT RETURN TO TICKET HOME AND TRY ANOTHER PACKAGE OR MATCH?

:(

Is it only available to season ticket holders or fans who regularly attend games or what?

WELL DONE AGAIN MR LERNER

Randy Lerner is doing such a brilliant job. Deals like this tempt people like me going down the villa and i'm a celtic fan.

Reminder: first match on Saturday so you haven't got long left (Any way to bump this?)
Didn't qualify when I tried to do it online as hadn't built up enough booking history. However, rang up and the lady very kindly set everything up and got the tickets. Great deal as includes Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal for £100 per adult and less for concessions and my kids. Great deal.

Nice one Villa- the seats are pretty decent for the price. Lower Holte is ok and has a much better atmosphere than the Trinity or Doug Ellis which are the more expensive seats.
The view is gonna be a bit meh :(
Still, for £20 a ticket for AA rated games, can't complain.

Turned out to be pretty decent seats, but an unsatisfactory performance and result on the day.
Still, not bad for £5 per person (plus booking fee).

Yes and yes, but the seats are in the Witton/Doug Ellis probably block Q2.
