This is way cheaper than anyone else online, heat added

i got these Elixir R 185/160
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-disc-brakes/avid-disc-brakes/avid-elixir-r-disc-brake-set.html
for £144 when on sale a month ago, now £160 so still cheaper - and probably better brakes?

good price for pair of Juicy 7 though with these caveats:

do you know merlin sell OEM stuff? so it comes loose in a bag and covered in tape, without e.g. even rotor bolts, could be frustrating if you don't have spare parts. warranty is iffy also although merlin usually say they'll take them back.

2nd, this deal is 160mm front only, many people want 185 or larger.

I can get 3 bikes for that.

yes satan very good, obviously they'll be rubbish and these aren't.
honestly, why even bother commenting on something irrelevant like that. If i post a wine deal i don't want to hear about cheap orange juice.
was going to make a car analogy but basically all cars do the same job so couldn't think of good one (unlike bikes which are not all used on the same surfaces).

I could buy 170 pints of pear cider at Morrisons, about as logical.
Good buy heat added:thumbsup:

alright i wasn't including 4x4 as "car" haha. ok yes.

JeJames have older Juicy 7 for about £85 each btw?

I'd love to take a 1.0 Ford Ka on the M25 :)
#10
alright i'm not a car expert.. know more about bikes.
would go for the Elixir personally very happy with those, not tried Juicy but heard modulation is not so good.. probably more powerful though.

deals like this are a problem because most people won't know how to vote, hukd needs a specialist section or something? nah i guess that wouldn't work either. maybe better to keep specialist stuff to specialist forums :p

this is an ok deal but merlin do have these sorts of prices all the time.. don't forget what i said above about being OEM.. although i do use them sometimes because prices are so tempting.

£47 for Juicy 3 185 front/203mm rear is really good
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-disc-brakes/avid-disc-brakes/avid-juicy-3-disc-brake-sale.html
tempted to get one of those to upgrade another bike..

perhaps more importantly though, the Elixir 5 are available
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-disc-brakes/avid-disc-brakes/avid-elixir-5-disc-brakes-f-r-set.html

which probably means the end of the Juicy line soon.. so get Juicy cheap or get the better Elixir design.
would vote cold now based on this.
