Using the attached code you get free standard delivery and 10% off thus making it £2.25 per bottle - RRP is £5

This is now quite commonly known as an effective insect repellent with added benefits that it doesnt smell horrible like a lot of the other brands. It also has the added benefits of being a moisuriser etc and has been recommended on TV by a lot of people including Martin Lewis

I used this a few years ago while on holiday and it worked a treat as i normally get feasted on, didnt get bitten once, used it after my sun lotion had dried in the morning and once before bed. Couldnt be any better and at the time i bought 2 x for about £7 from ebay. This is much cheaper

This is much much cheaper than all the standard insect repellents on the market. Even more so the kids ones and is Deet free which is safe

Lots of reviews on the internet so just have a look in google:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=avon+insect+repellent&meta=

These are selling for £10+ for x 3 on ebay as well

I use this at night when on holiday so I do not get bitten, excellent product, works 100%.
#17
anyone know if it's only the 'fresh' one which is good as mosquito repellent or does the 'sensual' scented one work just as well?
#18
Thanks, been wondering which of Avons stuff was the insect repellent.
Heat and rep added.

I get bitten very regularly. Bought this last year...sorry to say made no difference at all. I think the story re the army using it is an urban myth. Got bitten and lumps were just as bad as ever. Only good thing is that it did not cost me too much, unlke many other products I have tried which have been just as usesless and cost me a fortune!

Dont know about whether its a myth or not but it certainly seem to work for a good few people. Midges are attracted to nice smells i.e. perfumes so maybe its your perfume that is attracting them ?? maybe you just smell too nice !! Hope you do find a decent one eventually

Midges are attracted by carbondioxide as I understand it. That way they find a mammal to feed off.

Maybe the way to solve it is to stop breathing!! :)

Its excellent for midges. Was camping on the west coast last year and was getting eaten alive.
The local gamekeeper stopped and gave us some skin so soft, didn't get bitten after that.
#31
I can just imagine the Taleban in Afganistan saying " I can smell Avon skin so soft prepare an ambush" Deet is the only thing to repel midges, Lol
#32
just make sure you apply this before the midges are out. if you apply while the midges are around you, they just stick to your skin as its moist.

Defintely works

For you maybe, not for me

DEET doesn`t repel anything!
It stops them biting
Avon doesn`t repel anything either,it stops them biting!
If something doesn`t work for you-don`t take it for granted that it doesn`t work for others

Try reading this page before you buy for the 'repellent ' qualities -

Thanks for this - voted hot.

I've been wanting to try it for ages - I'm a fell runner so hopefully it'll do the biz. I got loads of bites on Saturday...

I'm a total sceptic - first time I bought this I thought "surely this stuff can't really work". Second time I bought it I thought the same thing. Even now as I'm typing this, I'm thinking "surely this stuff can't work as well as it does", but it DOES.

I'm one of those people who can get covered in bites in central london. Have used this all over southern europe & the usa & have remained pretty-much bite free.

thanks for the post - have stocked up!
