I bought one last night, selecting free postage and it arrived this morning, very fast and a great netbook, not the best but for the money, a good deal.

No support for external memory stick or hd drive! This limit it's application severely. Spend £30 more and get a proper USB support, imo.

I did place a direct link, and via edit it`s still there, no idea why it goes to batteries.

As I said it`s not the best, but for the cash it suits my needs.

I`ve not yet checked out all the software but it read PDFs, shows USB storage content and connects via wi-fi very easy. So far so good.

Wind0w5 CE, probably worth binning. Wonder whether anyone's tried putting Ubuntu or other GNU/Linux on there...?

"SD / SDHC Card reader

"

Windows Mobile devices usually have SD Card slots for memory expansion

Still wouldn't' want one though!....... for one thing it's second hand, what's the battery going to be like I wonder?!

has any one had any Experience with one of these ?
lookinh to get something small for my next trip

You'll use it for a week, then the novelty will wear off and it'll be relegated to the back of your wardrobe. Its not good.

This sort of thing has been listed several times in the past here - they are not worth the cash people.

You will always get what you pay for - You can almost guarantee that this will not support flash, so that's a vast majority of the web out of reach for a start.

Windows CE has been proven to be an absolute dog and is way too old and slow...

cold I am afraid.

£29.95 would be a fair price IMO.

Great price, but unfortunately these are terribly slow, don't support flash or USB Memory stick.

One went back at work. I had it hooked up to a GBit network and it was a frustrating experience surfing the internet with images taking a while to load. I seriously wouldn't have one given - no joking! Maybe other people have had better experiences.

I would highly recommend the Acer 150b Netbooks, with refurbs available (from memory) at DABS from around £130.00 last time I looked. Amazing to have Windows XP running on such a small machine.

This is a great little laptop to experiment with Windows CE on.

The USB Ports are shown to be USB 2.0, so even though Maplin suggests that USB Sticks will not work - in actual fact they should.

Also, On laptops similar to this MioPocket is compatible which instantly adds a better GUI and a hell of a lot more programs. (Download: http://netfresco.com/MioPocket/default.aspx)

I friend has a netbook similar to this, and is currently trying to port SkyFire to it. If the port is succesful, then that would instantly add Flash, BBC iPlayer. YouTube - full browsing support. In the meantime, I suggest anyone with one of these fine netbooks should see if any of these versions of SkyFire work. (Download: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=127681)

And, just to let you know - Maplin also sell a Windows CE Powered ' MID '. A support site has been created for the MID here, but focuses on the Windows CE Software so a lot of tips and tricks can be found. (Link: http://maplinmid.hyperboards.com)

So, I believe with a bit of work and patience - this laptop could be quite fine!
