B&Q Garden Furniture - MASSIVE REDUCTIONS Instore Only

LazyDonkeyLazyDonkey

Went into B&Q today and they had reduced virtually all of the garden furniture AGAIN.

All the signs instore state that there is currently a 1/3 off, BUT these reduced prices had been reduced again by 50, 60 and 70%.

For example, the Canterbury Round Gateleg Table (really good quality - Roble Hardwood) had been reduced from £299.99 to £99.99! Folding Canterbury armchairs to match were reduced from £99.99 each to £33!

I decided to go for the Milan Teak Folding table, reduced from £199.99 to £24.99 - couldn't work out how they got to that price. I think the Milan range has been discontinued. The matching folding chairs come in packs of 2 and were £25.99.

Other ranges reduced that I noticed were the Winchester and Monaco ranges.

Prices on-line are still only 1/3 off, so check out your local B&Q as the sales assistant told me that although this was nationwide it would probably not be advertised. Obviously dont know how true that is..............?

Just got back, thought I was getting a good deal on 12ft trampoline for £48.50. Got to till and it was £48.50 for each box! Why would anyone only want half a trampoline?

I can't see it goodersuk! The till clerk must have been cracked... did you ask for the price at customer service or somewhere else?

The price was on the display trampoline for £48.50. When I went back to check, after I argued at the till, it had a sign up saying you needed box 1 and box 2 and another barcode for each box. Maybe it's me but I can't see how they can sell the boxes seperate. I wonder what they would do if someone went in and only bought 1 box?

Jenz - did you ask them to check the prices for you?

I went to 2 different B&Q's today and both were still only advertising 1/3rd off. At the 1st shop the assistant told me that nothing had been reduced any further. He refused to check the prices - but they didn't have what I wanted anyway.

I then travelled to a different store and again asked for the prices to be checked. The guy there was extremely helpful and despite the fact that he stated nothing had been reduced, he still was willing to help. Anyway we went to the till, armed with a B&Q Garden brochure and proceeded to check various prices. He was absolutely amazed that basically everything had gone down again.

Admittedly items weren't as cheap as the £24.99 Milan table that I had bought (it scanned at £49.99), but I still managed to get an additional 2 Milan folding armchairs for £19.99 - down from £69.98 !

Most people were looking but just passing by, as it would appear that all the prices on B&Q furniture are incorrect - best bet is to grab a garden brochure, take it to the customer services till and get them to check !

I went yesterday too and the Canterbury Extending Table was about £179 down from £299. But the worst was the chairs they were still £76 odd for two. So I came away again, thought I might try later in week.

    Quick update from original post:-

It would appear that the major reductions are in the larger B&Q warehouses only (at present).

Told a friend about the reduced garden furniture last night and today we went to 3 local stores - all 3 are 'larger' B&Q's. (Check B&Q website for location details).

Managed to get my Mum the Canterbury Bistro set (2 chairs and a small table) for £35 - reduced from £150 and my friend purchased the Canterbury gateleg table and 4 folding chairs for £232 - originally £700 !!!!

We did notice though that some of the prices appeared to differ from store to store - just make sure you get the item scanned to check the correct price. In one store they had reduced all the garden furniture cushions to £1 each - assistant said that they had to make room for Christmas Decorations !!!!

Do also check out the prices for BBQ's, as the Winchester Hooded 3 burner Gas BBQ was selling for £70, down from £200 - others were also reduced !

In addition - display items (BBQ's and garden furniture) were being sold at silly prices..........just ask to speak to the Manager.

Thanks for the extra info LazyDonkey. Hopefully someone else can find some offers and confirm this is going on nation wide!
