B&Q Going Going Gone Event - Friday 2nd May

As posted by my good self on 'that other bargain website'...:D

As of doors opening on Friday 2nd May B&Q are holding yet another '3G' event with various bargains to be had including the following (which is a copy of an email from a mate who works there):

"The big tiles 600x600mm black, I'm not sure if the cream ones are included and we can see what appears to be a brown version though it still says black on the box.

Cooker hoods

Fence panels

Outdoor store/shed type thing

Carbon monoxide detector (currently 15 quid, may be down to a tenner)

Decking 1.8meters

Other outdoor things appear to be included, like fence posts. "

We have no further info re:prices or anything other than what is on here - I'll keep you posted asap, or look in the red top papers tmw or Thurs for full details.

Hope this is of use to you and sorry if posted incorrectly in any way - newbie to HUKD so be kind!!! :)

Have added piccys on post 35,hope you don't mind :)

Make sure you don't get a shed with overlapped walls or it'll fall apart after a couple of years as I learned on Friday putting new Felt on the both the sheds' roofs. The big one is 9 year old and rock solid as it's tongue and groove and the other is 2 year old and almost fell apart when I was putting the clout nails into it :?

I wonder if any of this is included in their new delivery service...

Thanks for the heat guys - I guess there isn't a 'thanks' button on this site?:? If there is please let me know and I'll press it!!!

Just as a FYI - I also don't think the sale will include an actual 'shed' but a 'shed/storage' thing, which I presume is gonna be like one of those plastic 'Keter' type ones:?

You might JUST get your kids in if you cram the lid down and shove a concrete block on it, Jennie!!!

I'll hopefully be back on later tonight after my mate finishes work there at 9pm with prices and stuff - although it might be advertised in the press today so keep a look out!!!

Cheers :)

Have tried the following combintions

3 x 5 Year Olds + 1 10 year Old or 3 x 7 Year Olds or 2 x 10 Year Olds :whistling:

Couple of Concrete Blocks on Top to stop it blowing away in strong winds

Prefer to use the compost bins they have as they have a serving hatch at the bottom where you can pas food to but only fits one child :w00t:

Bought a shed from B&Q a year or three back.
It was a tongue & grooved 6x8 (wider than long).
Had windows but didn't really need them as the timber shrank & there was ample light coming through the space between each.
Shed kept dry, until it rained, then soaked compressed board roof which started to sag.
Had to fit extra support struts to prevent roof caving in & refelt as soon as I could get a dry spell to do it.
Maybe just unlucky but wish I'd bought from a shed specialist instead of trying to save a couple of pounds.

OP says to check the "red top" papers on Thursday for full details.

No need for unprovoked sarcasm. Perhaps you mis-read Dawnie's very reasonable question.

I can highly recommend www.skinners-sheds.co.uk - very helpful and superb quality.

B&Q are fine ... unless you ever need help from customer services who in my opinion are a shambles. I'd rather pay extra to go elsewhere.

'He' is actually a 'she' :p and it's my first post telling folk about a potential bargain - my other 3-4 posts have been questions. :)

So whilst I did join last year, I am new to the posting of bargains on this particular site - i.e a HUKD virgin but an MSE old timer!!!:-D

To the others who asked questions - I have NO further info at present other than what I have already put - if I hear more I'll let you know!!!
#27
Thanks for that - you don't happen to have any insider info about how to get a discount on wallpapers as the one hubby's seen is £20 a roll!!!!!

Ok guys, I have a flyer from my mate - printed off the store intranet today - any ideas how I post it?!!!

I have scanned it to file, but have no idea how to get it on here!

There aren't any prices yet though - that's being WELL kept secret

There are about 25-30 items on there, but for you shed folk - sorry, you are gonna be disappointed this time cos it's a 'garden plastic storage' thing

According to the flyer, the marketing will take place in FRIDAY'S papers - a bit daft considering the thing starts at 7am Friday!!! Unless it's a typo and they mean tmw?

It'll be in The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily mail, Express, and for you Scots folk, The Record. Will also be sent out to '5 million homes' as a flyer with other offers on too, so 'bargain' may be correct in their post above.

Any techies who can advise on how I post the leaflet? I'll be here all night if I type it all in!!!

HTH for now
#31
Hey gerty, you need to upload the image to somewhere like photbucket
#32
Imageshack or photbucket as mentioned above...upload...and then paste the link here :D
#33
Well, I'm off to bed now guys, then work tomorrow, so as soon as I get back I'll TRY to upload it. Thanks for the tips though.

Although probably by then someone will already have got hold of the prices - so keep an eye out in the papers and see what's there :-)
#34
Nice one if fence pannel and deckings up for grabs as I am just about to move and need both for the new place
#35
Mornin all!

I've just found time to suss out this Photobucket thingy and upload the details - before work (running late now!!!:whistling:) as I say, no prices (well, a couple) and not all the bar codes will show anything if you look online - those that do will prob show the current full price, not the 3G price.

HTH - you may need to max your screen or print the image cos it's not too clear.
