I happened to be in my local B & Q in Ipswich on Friday and they were putting out loads of stuff for £1. This included the really good Gold Plated Scart Cables (I paid £30 each for similar ones). There was S-Video Cables, RBG cable and all sorts I have not even seen before inclidung HD.
There was also those Sky things fro controlling your Sky receiver from another room, indoor aeriels, Sky remotes and numerous miscellaneous Computer cables all fro just £1 each.

These are the Thor cables yeah? I picked up the Scart one months ago for a tenner, and picked up a Thor S-Video cable there last week... if they're only a quid now I'm going back up tomorrow! Did they have HDMI cables? In need of a few of those at mo

If only they were Thor cables, but I'm guessing it's these ones

Yes this is an offer that has come down from head office. I work for B&Q and its nationwide but depends on what stock is left. There is all sorts from headphones to wireless printer servers for a pound (these were £90) and im desperately trying to find one. I know there is a store where i can still get one but im not going to let that slip on here because i checked the database and there is one left in that store. So there are items of stock left in these places just depends if your lucky enough to get one.
As for the brand, yes it is pretty rubbish to be honest but for a quid you cannot complain, at the original prices tthese things were selling for you can however.

lol someone's been on PANDORA. there's loads of good stuff in the offer. i picked up some universal remotes, some universal telephone adaptor sets, loads of network cables, an RF modulator, a few RF amplifiers and loads more. in my local store the've not dropped the really expensive stuff yet, but i'm gonna do a price check on some of them tomorrow as i think they've gone down as well but they've not changed the signs

Would you two insiders care to comment on my likelihood of finding HDMI cables for a quid there? :giggle:
#9
you stand a good chance. basically they've changed the packaging on these lines and the old style packaged goods are being sold off for a quid. its purely luck whats left but today i saw just about everything from plain phone stuff through to optical cables. there was even quite a few pcmcia cards they had usb ports, network adaptors and card readers all pcmcia. they also had 4 an 7 port usb2 hubs both actively powered. its a lottery as to whats in the boxes but dig deep you'll find something good. btw i'm not an insider. its just that both my kids work weekends there. :)

Plenty of decent Scarts & composite leads (stickered at a £5 & £10 no less), but no HDMI cables, so just picked up a bog standard 1m one for a tenner was all I needed. Poxy Ipswich B&Q :x Cheers anyway

went to my b&q and as i walked through the door there was isles of £1 items from leads to tools and plugs and all sorts and i thought that was it as there were some good deals but when i went to the back of the store there were 4 huge boxes full of cables all £1 each, picked up a load of THOR cables, a wireless laptop card, light up usb cables, a scart and audio cable hub and loads more all at £1 each, i bought 17 items in total totalling £17, many of the item's were labelled at £20+

absolutely brilliant deal, thanks op.

Picked up some good quality cables on the weekend from Gants Hill branch. Branded (maybe THOR, can't remember) 3m optical toslink and a 5m Sub woofer cable.

Also, picked up Sky link pack (no remote) from Beckton a few weeks ago. The wireless laptop card was a tenner back then when I got them to scan it. They had loads of stuff piled into boxes. No HDMI cables.

Will have a look after work - thanks!
#14
Had these at my local B+Q too today, so worth a look
#15
which section do we find these cables? B&Q stores are pretty big so looking for them is a nightmare.
#16
Nothing too exciting in Lancaster, unfortunately. (No change there, then!)
#17
Yeah picked up some bargains over the weekend. Some handy household things too! Spirit-levels, rope, cable ties. Okay maybe not so much household as much as Blue Peter household!
#18
did the people who bought stuff over the weekend not think to post it on hukd? isn't the idea to look after each other? i'll be shooting down after work, hope they are not wiped out!

Very little left in the Milton Keynes central one. Bought a USB lead for a £1 and a 3 metre mini telephone extension lead for a £1. No scarts.
#20
are these prices on the system nationwide regardless of shelf price?
#21
nothing at all in the norwich store, perhaps one of the isnders can tell me if it's a worth a trip to the yarmouth store as I'm nearby tomorrow?

Had a good rumage through the reduced bins in the Bridgwater store tonight & came up with some bargains all £1.

They had (plus more);
remote control electrical plug/socket sets,
illuminated usbs,
70m phone extension kits,
ethernet cables,
universal remote controls,
light switch timer lights,
travel plugs,
modem cables,
power breaker safety plugs,
monitor cables,
wireless laptop cards,
etc.

They were in cardboard bins & boxes in the far corner of the store saying "everything £5 or £10". But I took a few things up to the checkout for a price check & they all came up a £1.

One thing that nearly caught me out was a wireless dongle that rang up at £34:w00t: Soon put that back!

Hope this helps Madcow

The new B&Q Warehouse in Peterborough has nothing, maybe 'cos they don't have any 'old' stock, only being open for only a couple of months.

Pandora is not accurate its a **** system needs updating, unless its only our store thats not accurate? Anyway as I remember these items started at £20/£10/£5 depending on the item and reduced last week to £1 picked up a couple of items myself. We only had few odd bits left at weekend.
