B&Q price promise guarantee

b&q will beat any price from local stores within a 10 mille radius as long as the item is in stock. if you find an item cheaper then go in your local b&q and ask for a price match.i will give an example £100 lawnmower at b&q is available in local tesco for £60 so if you go into b&q they will match this price and take a further 10% off so you would get item for £54.you could save a considerable amount on a large project.they will price match on similar products such as bathroom suites and conservatories also so do yourself a favour and shop round then take the info too b&q and save a further 10% works in same way as pcworld price promise.hope its useful for those with lots of diy too do.

Note it doesn't have to be the exact same product in the case of a B&Q brand -

If you find any product even 1p cheaper anywhere else… we’ll refund the difference and give you an extra 10% off the lower price. We’re so confident
our prices in store are cheaper than our competitors, that if you buy a product from us and find the same product (or equivalent in the case of
B&Q Brand) available locally for less – even if it’s a sale or special offer price – we’ll not just match that price but we’ll beat the lower price by a
further 10% for your trouble. All we ask is that the lower price is generally available to any potential customer on the day that you call back, within
14 days of purchase, with a proof of purchase. Please ask in store for details.

a little addendum to the information is that they won't price-match to every store. for instance my local focus store is one of their priceless branded stores and the local B&Q will not price-match to that store. it has to be a normal branch and cannot be a clearance store

yes they do i have a no frills diy store near me which is a clearance store of focus group and b&q match against them too as well as local one off local stores.

well, all i can say is that both my kids work in the local B&Q, (one of them on CS) and our store will NOT match to priceless under any circumstances as they're blackilisted by HO

EDIT btw the "priceless" i refer to is the no frills brand. priceless is a nickname they use instore

this will be the store itself not head office and if they are doing that they are clearly breaking b&q policy.a lot of tradesmen use the local no frills as a price point and use the b&q so they can save the further 10%.your store is breaking a national policy and if they wont do the price match i would ring the head office and complain

i got b&q to price match to the range for cuprinal wood stain £7.99 in the range and £12.98 in b&q and the cordless rechargable sprayer matched to homebase as it was £26.99 there ans b&q was £39.99 but had to wait for nearly 30 mins for them to sort it, then had to tell them about the 10% but got there in the end............. :whistling:

They had this offer on a few years back, when I was looking for some ladders

but I saw some ladders in one B&Q (in warrington) on a bloody good special offer - I then went to my local B&Q! (which didn't have the special offer on)

- they priced matched the other store and knocked 10% off - :-D

The lack of clarification here appears to be another recipe for a complete PR disaster. Different managers interpreting the policy in different ways, spells chaos.

Prepare to be disappointed is all I can say.

currently argos are selling a lawnmower for about £20 cheaper than B&Q -- @ £59.98 or summit (compact 330 irrc)... if anyone needs 1 like

no it shouldn't be a problem getting things price-matched. the staff usually simply phone to ensure its in stock. they'll even match price for home brand goods with competitors. as for the no-frills match it can't be just a store manager issue as the store gets a new manager every other week by the sounds of it :) , and they've used the same policy for the three years its been open. they simply don't have to price-match discount stores. perhaps some managers will and some won't .... who knows :)

look at post 2 the policy is very clear as i have stated if a store refuses contact the head office.no individual store can make its own policy.worth printing the terms and conditions and taking it in with you to be on safe side so you can quote word for word.

Fair enough and you notice after you pruchased the product.

But why not reward the Company selling at the lower price in the first place :?.

This Has Been B&Q price promise policy for years & years, how is this a hot deal??

B&Q price match not worth much. I purchased an electric shower from there, had it fitted, the same day popped into Homebase and they had it £15 cheaper, took my receipt back to B&Q and the code for the Homebase shower, they looked it up on line and agreed it was cheaper, but could not do price match because you have to purchase cheaper one then take it back to B&Q then they would price match, then take the other one back for a refund, whats the point in that. Can anyone explain the logic if any in this.
