A great value 650b hardtail mountain bike from b'twin. This all new model with a totally re-designed 6061 alloy lifetime warranty frame is built around the 27.5" wheel format to help the rider really get the best out of this fantastic MTB.

With it's reliable 27 speed SRAM/SHIMANO drivetrain, Tektro Comp hydraulic brakes and durable alloy rims this mountain bike really is geared up to having fun off road on the trails.

How will this compare to the Carrera Vengence from Halfords? Any ideas?

Sorry, no idea really. They're good value though, maybe compare side by side on spec.

It is good spec, but slightly different to last years model, apparently the specs and model numbers have shifted slightly in comparison.

Awful spec

Can anyone recommend a similar spec'd bike for around the same price, I have no clue about bikes. Im looking for something that I can ride on roads/paths and a little rough ground. There doesn't seem to be any large left although the guy said the 540 would suit me but it doesn't have the lockout on the handle bar.

I would say to have a look at the Cannondale Trail 5, it's currently on sale at £455. Has the handlebar lockout too.
