great spec and I have no prob spending that sort of cash on a bike, but not on a supermarket own-brand bike.

Not voted either way because I'm a bike snob. but so are most people who've got the best part of 2K to drop on a bike.

The spec for the money is great. SRAM XX and DT Swiss forks. Good deal is you can live with the risk of a 'cheaper' carbon frame. There are a lot of good bikes out there in this precise bracket. Cube Reaction GTC would be my choice.

I've seen more broken titanium frames than broken carbon. And carbon is easier to repair than any other material and the repair is at least as strong (rather than weaker for alloy or titanium where heat affected zones around the weld weaken the frame).

If you don't like the frame swap it for something else - they're basically giving the frame away. Go look up the spec and shop around for the individual components; Fork - £680, Groupset £650, Wheelset £1250 (on sale), Brakes £450 (on sale again). with the carbon bars and seatpost we're already up to 3 grands' worth of components... this is the bargain giveaway of the century! If you like you're frame but fancy upgrading the components here's your chance
