Please dont make thet assumtion that if they sell it it has to be safe

An extract from the Which site

"The Which? tests reveal big differences between child car seats. Some protect babies and children well, but others expose them to the risk of serious injury or even death"

"All seats sold in the UK must meet the test requirements of the compulsory standard ECE R44/04.

This simulates a low-speed crash test at the front of the vehicle, equivalent to around 30mph, without a child sustaining serious injury. But beware – the test is done on a test bench and there's no compulsory side-impact test, or ease of use assessment for child car seats.

Which? uses far more stringent standards than this. Our crash tests are derived from Euro NCAP – which carries out crash testing on behalf of European consumers and shows how well cars protect occupants in severe accidents. Our testing does a similar thing for child seats and more accurately reflects what happens in real crashes than the legal minimum test.

That's all very interesting, but it doesn't tell me me how a Britax seat is any better than THIS seat. It would be helpful if you could give some more information to explain exactly why the Britax is the better buy.

Thanks

The most expensive does not mean the safest seat i agree

But I would rather get one thats been fully tested by Which than some Chinese no name one, who are Baby Start ? i can find no info on Google about them.

At the end of the day we are taking about child safety something that can save there life , I'm sure when it comes down to that people want the safest seat available.

I would hate for someone to get a **** seat and there child end up seriously injured, bottom line thats all that matters

so ive got a serena 2.3D T reg car, does that make me stupid and not a good parent just because i cant afford a top spec car with all safety features. what im saying is not everyone can afford the best and people who say if you buy this cheaper car seat your putting your childs life at risk this is rubbish.
fine you wont buy this but others will, just because you wouldnt doesnt mean this car seat is rubbish, just because it isnt rated in WHICH. to all others who read this dont be put off or bullied into thinking if you buy this your a c**p parent and you dont care about your child.

When you talk about cars you are spending hundreds thousands of pounds, a good car seat in the same category can be had for as little as £70, £40 more at the end of the day isnt alot to know you have one that has passed more stringent safety tests rather than the very poor minimum standard

Most people dont realise the differeence between seats they think they are all ok, i dont give a dam what you think , i dont think people are **** parents if they buy this seat thats up to them, but if something did happen god forbid i really hope it dosent then they would wish they would have bought a safer seat for the extra price of a couple of takeaways

its all **** it depends if you are lucky in the car crash, you can have £300 car seat but still die, life is a lottery. join the real world
