Voted cold. Bought one of these, it didn't move up or down as described. Took it back, got 2nd one. Took that back as it was poo.
Why? Being a man of much beardness and stuff. The problem with this is that the guard around the moving parts is not complete, it has a gap near to the top so there is risk of taking chunks of beard off without you wanting it to. Living proof here :(
Then took it back and went for a direct replacement for my old trimmer :)

Well it's a good deal in that I paid £40 for one of these earlier this year. But the product itself as the post above states is very flawed with the clippers exposed no matter what trim length you set so unless you have 30 minutes to spend trimming your face then you're probably going to end up taking a chunk out of your beard or even worse (like in my face) your face!

I use it for the stubble look on the lowest gradient and it works ok but at £40 I wanted more whereas at this price it might not be too bad.

Same here, bought one when they first came out - just had to have the gadget, but it's only worth having if it works. If held at any more or less than 90degrees to the face you risk making a real mess! Luckily it was on a 30 day trial offer, it went back.

Not voted but hotish (pricewise) if you really want one.

So is this only rubbish for longer beards? I like to keep a couple of days worth of growth, would it maintain that or should I look elsewhere? Also is this price only online or instore too?

Generally I'd say the longer you want your growth the more precarious the trimming. It's a bit difficult to explain, the blade isn't covered by any sort of protective guard so when the comb is extended by more than a couple of milimetres the sides of the blades are exposed. It really isn't possible to quickly run this trimmer over your face while avoiding the chance of the blade touching you and trimming all the way down to zero. However it's really well built, looks cool and gadgety and if you only have 1 or 2 days growth to lose it may be worth a try. Just don't go expecting to get away with a quick trim 10 minutes before going out without factoring in the chance you will (guaranteed) have to shave properly one day after making a mess.

Got one recently and find it to be excellent for my purposes.

I use it for the short stubble look and it is brilliant, though I can't comment for longer beards.

No problem, to be honest I was almost thinking of getting one to give it a second chance, but I thought I check out some reviews on Amazon. They've knocked some sense back into me ~ take a look there are over 50 reviewers there. It's not good!

I figured at that price I'd give it a punt, no great loss if it turns out to be junk

You're right, it might work for you. Plus Boots shouldn't be too difficult with you if you decide not to keep if you find it to be 'faulty' :whistling:
