How's that work??

Here's an example of the way the Tesco Brand Guarantee could work with this deal.

Sainbury's have Cockburn's Fine Ruby Port on offer at £7.00 per bottle.

If you buy some extra items to qualify for the Tesco Brand Guarantee and buy 6 bottles of the Cockburn's Port, you should get them for £31.50 = £5.25 per bottle.

How's that work??
Price matching can increase discount – if lucky
6 X Faustino VII £7.50 = £45
Less 25% for 6 = (£11.25)
Brand match: Asda Faustino is £5 therefore £2.50 x 6 = (£15)
£45 less £11.25 less £15 = £18.75 (for six bottles) therefore £3.13 per bottle
Hopefully this still on – ordered tonight so will know tomorrow. Remember to brand match you have to have 10 items in basket.

This didn't work just over a week ago when the deal was on. Tesco fixed the deal and only matched the £5 price per bottle that was on in Asda. Hopefully it works, but I'm not confident

This is how it worked last week when the 25% off was on.

6 x £7.50 = £45

- 25% (£11.25) = £33.75

Asda 6 x £5 = £30

Brand match £3.75.

Total in Tesco £30

Just buy it in England or NI and pick it up when you can - with the weak pound everything we have is now 25% off and still falling...

No complaints on exchange rate, I'm loading up on everything I can afford atm, but Tesco have always inflated their prices in Ireland, probably because they can (lack of competition)... 5% as opposed to 25% is still rubbing your face in it if you ask me

Any glitches working yet?

It would appear the 5% off 6 or more is an ongoing roi deal. The 25% off does come up the odd time! Dunnes sometimes gives the 25% back in value club vouchers. Mon up north, fill yer boot and sell booze to your mates. Make a fortune. Esp on spirits

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but staff with discount cards get 20% off from Friday I believe

stock up

I'm still sulking from last week. I ordered 12 bottles of red wine and added 4 bottles of ale to reduce the delivery charge. Driver arrived with just the 4 bottles of ale and said the wine was out of stock! I gave the ale back and cancelled the order.

If it was it didn't work too well for them - ordered the Hardys stamp at 2 for £9 with 25 percent off - they substituted the Hardys stamp with wolf blass and an apology bottle of champagne as they could only supply 23 not 24 bottles. I only wanted some cheap red for mulled wine. ..

so jealous of this. it doesn't often happen that you get an amazing substitute but when it does its like Christmas has come early!!

I bought £400s worth back in late August during the last proper wine promo on the basis that they come around every 6 months.

This one has come around a bit quicker, and I've still loads of wine left, but will take another a couple of hundred quids worth. I can see wine only getting more expensive in the future so a good excuse for me to further stock up.

Do you get an additional 25% of the Trivento malbec? It's reduced from £8 to £6 but at the bottom it mentions the 25% offer which would take it down to £4.50 for a decent wine. Can't try it out as I'm in Scotland.

Yes, these bottles work out at 6 for £27 in England. So as you say, £4.50 per bottle.

I think that in all cases where the terms and conditions apply, the 25% off is on top of any advertised reduction for particular bottles.
#29
Anybody know if this is working in-store, like last week ?

Should do, last week the 25% was stacked on to any other deals - shame there's no multi deal offers this week ...:(

The deal is certainly on in store and it was heavily advertised in the two stores I visited today.

I think you need to read through this thread properly. There are quite a few posts about the Tesco Price Guarantee and the consensus seems to be that the previous glitch has been fixed.

Don't trust anything Darzen says - got it well wrong last time - hopeless

Do you not have to choose 10 different products for the price guarantee to work
#37
Are there any restrictions with this?

ie bottles have to be over a certain price?

Does it work with sherry? Spiritis etc?

It's in the description at the top

I think The Clash , is spot on I have looked and can not see a glitch working on this! The glitch glory days have gone.
But I would liked to be proven wrong on this!
