I know it's been posted before and expired, but they're running it again, but only till Thursday 23/06/2011 at 11:59pm!

Deal link can't be updated, so either paste this in http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.211-2318.aspx to your browser, or use Rock2007's link in the comments. Use code TDX-KYRA at checkout to get £20 off.

This only applies to the 3G model, as the voucher only works for spends above £150.

**UPDATE, apparantly Tesco will not accept the code on the phone, it does work online, thanks to MPW33CFR for the feedback on that one***

The offer's only available until 11.59pm Thursday 23 June and you'll need to collect it at your nearest Tesco to avoid delivery cost.

Tesco has said there are currently 800 3G Kindles in stock; if it runs out 1,500 more will be available from Thursday.

Saw via MSE.

I picked mine up Monday evening-I am not a gadget person but I absolutely love it. It's very easy to use and I have downloaded so many classics totally free from Amazon - also from the Gutenburg website that a colleague told me about - they have a massive selection of titles to choose from - all absolutely free. Treat yourself to one - I do not regret my purchase for a second.:D

Alright MPW33CFR I'll update the post to reflect that.

Now Out Of Stock when you ring.
How do you order online as when you search on Kindle it comes up with page that says order on telephone and collect in-store only. Or am I missing something?

DooooooooH.....You are right I had missed it ;) . Many thanks ozodimal et al, have now ordered online using the code which was accepted. May be of interest to others who have tried ringing as detailed on MSE without success plus also might give access to Quidco/TCB,

have a look through this thread for further help, I ordered mine through Tesco Direct using the £20 off code Saturday evening & picked it up Tuesday from my local store & dont forget to go through Quidco or Topcashback (who I prefer) first for a further 3% off.

Tesco Direct 3g & wi-fi product number is 211-2318 or lazy link here

Yes it was very well received last year.

This model is a Kindle 3rd Gen, there are rumours of a 4th gen Kindle possibly Sept 2011 but Amazon will play that close to their chests to prevent affecting sales of 3rd Gen.

Can you read these things in sunlight or is it a strain? They seem like a great idea, trying to work out the pros and cons...

Fantastic for reading in direct sunlight, looks exactly the same as the page of a book, no reflection.

Can someone please explain the advantage of having the Kindle 3G vs the WIFI only version? Other than costing extra money for a SIM card (negative) I cannot see any positives.
#31
You don't need a SIM card - it comes with free downloads where 3G is available, no subscription.

I bought this for my wife and I'm really jealous as I have a 2 year old Sony PRS-505, which I still enjoy.

Its main advantage is that the kindle has a browser included which means you can surf the net anywhere in the UK plus a few other European countries without cost. The browser is cumbersome but usable.
#33
What makes the Kindle better than the Sony reader does anyone know?
#34
Out of stock :(
#35
Does anyone know if you can also use tesco vouchers for this on line as I have been saving mine to by hubby the kindle 3G for his birthday next week. If so might be able to get this for under £100?
