What is the transfer like on this ? :D

its ok, bought this from play at this price about a month ago, the transfer isn't 1080p and you can see the "grain" on some scenes, but for the price the discs are packed with extras.

I'd rather pay less for just the first movie. The other two were quite rubbish IMO.
#5
I think the transfers excellent, watched this at the cinema when it was re-release and the bluray quality is far better

as mentioned earlier, i did see some "grain" in the first film and have yet to watch the other two, the review on AV Forums states it improves for 2 & 3, still worth the money.

I am fed up with so called experts saying false statements on this site. It is 1080P

You can see grain? In a film? Holy smokes! Someone call in the DNR crew for a waxy clean up. /sarcasm.

Excellent price but I'm in no rush to watch these as I introduced someone to them about 6 months ago and watched all 3 then, will happily wait for another few quid to be knocked off before upgrading.

It is 1080p, and anything shot on film has grain....sometimes it can be removed, but most don't as it adds texture to the picture. Film as a medium is actually beyond 1080p resolution in terms of the detail it holds.

I know, right? If it's from the same source, the better the transfer the more clear the grain should be. :).

Resolution has nothing to do with grain removal.

This isn't a deal. It was the first time it was reduced to this price, but it's been this price level for a while now, so I'd class this as 'standard', not a deal.

Play.com appears to be the only major retailer (I checked Amazon, HMV, Zavvi, Tesco, Bee, Shopto and Base) selling at sub £25, so how is £17.99 "standard"?

Thanks. Bought!.

This is my fav trilogy, the third film is the best film!
I know this is going to cause some replies, but no 3 is the best adventure

who's an expert ???

as stated i have bought and watched this, the original question was on transfer quality and as saw DNR during the first film i thought it right to mention it, the previous post linking to to AV forums also states that picture quality improves into films 2 & 3.

hope this helps

Eh? You state above that you saw 'grain' and now you are saying you saw 'DNR'... you don't really know what you're talking about, do you?

FWIW the transfer is excellent IMHO.

Awesome Deal, Awesome Film, Awesome Transfer... END OF!! ;)

There has rarely been a franchise in the history of Hollywood which maintained its charm and luster over all of its entries as did the Back to the Future trilogy. Virtually everyone who has seen and loved this triad has their own favorite (mine is the second), and each of the films has their own special magic which enchants and effortlessly entertains. Some people may (mistakenly) take these BDs to task for what they perceive are image issues. The only real "issue" is occasional artifacting; otherwise these look splendid, better by far than any previous home video release. Filled with amazing supplemental content, this is a fantastic package which any lover of any of the three, let alone all of them, will want to have in their personal collection. Very highly recommended.

Have a look at the review on that site above if your in doubt of the quality or the movie itself. 4.5 out of 5 says it all.
