Just seen this advertised on TV - great price for a decent sized bottle. Ideal for xmas!

In most places it's over a tenner for this size.

Yum!

Did I not see this for £5 at asda!

I think that is for the 50cl bottle.
#8
Yes it is £5 for 50cl at Asda, which is the equivalent of 70cl for £7, so both good deals
#9

Damn - bought 2 for 22 quid (1l bottles) in the airport thinking that was a good deal! :(
#13
Got my vote, bought 8 bottles today. (Xmas gifts).

this was posted earlier on today, but at the incorrect price of £5.79, rushed down to find them £7. Still a goods price, although most stores nearer christmas do the 1litre bottle for £9 (sainsburys) - £9.79 (tesco)

Just been there and bought - cheaper than abroard!

I have just come back from France. I always go in the shop at Calais and as usual come away empty handed. Not only is the Euro rate low but most of the time you can get a better deal on alcohol when visiting your local supermarkets and buy when different drinks are on promotion.

Spirits and now beer are cheaper in the UK, when on promotion. However wine is still less expensive in France.

just got mine, 3 bottles, yum

supermarkets are cheaper for booze just wait for an offer to arise and take good advantage of it, only good thing to get abroad is cigarettes as you never find offers on them in shops.

So you've voted cold based on the fact that a bigger bottle was mildly more expensive a year ago?

some people
#26
this was advertised as early as 2.15pm yesterday on itv 0ne 640 degrees are you sure?
#27
would this deal apply to tesco express?
#28
Voted cold because it is not a great deal !
1000ml as opposed to 700ml, I make that about 50% bigger, for an extra quid.
Merely stating Baileys is a Xmas Supermarket line, daft to buy the 700ml one now if you are saving it for Xmas.

Some people.

I would agree with you, if you could buy 1L for £8 anywhere else at the moment - but you can't. You're comparing this deal to something that was onsale a year ago, and using that comparison to vote cold! Prices last year are irrelevant when voting on current deals. Are you gonna start voting cold on petrol deals cos you could get it cheaper 2 years ago??! Or cold voting on DVDs cos you expect the prices to come down even lower sometime in the future? Votes are based on whether or not it's a good deal now.

Fair enough to say you're gonna wait to see if the prices come down, but cold voting on assumptions and old prices is ridiculous - but like I said, some people (don't bother to learn how voting works & just decide to make their own rules up) .... :whistling:
#30
I don't really care about voting but at this very moment the price is good. Nobody knows if the 1L offer this year will be repeated. Based on savings over RRP it is a good price.
#31
Sorry, forgot to say that some of us are traders for the supermarkets.
It will be repeated.
Not harping on about last year, looking forward to this year !
#32
Great deal, shame they had none left in our tesco:x
#33
Managed to grab a bottle tonight, didn't seem to have any of the mint variety, shame as I wanted to try that one too.
#34
mint one is ok but not as good

i can confirm that this applies to tesco express as well, picked up a bottle last night
