Personally, I think that these items aren't worth the prices usually asked, but Play have a couple of good deals - very useful if you son has asked for them for Christmas, like mine has!

The deals are as follows:
1. the battle pack is reduced from £19.99 to £9.99
2. when you buy the battle pack, you get the starter pack for £4.99 (reduced from £12.99)

This actually seems like a good price for what they are ;)

You could combine this with the arena for £19.99 at Argos if you want to save a few more £££

My son is 5 1/2 too, lets see we have got him hotwheels, remote controlled toys, bakugan ( as post!) and far too much else. I would suggest buying toys he can put together himself ( i have a sister that always buys toys which we need to spend hours putting together first, arrggh! the cranium super fort comes in a fab big box, which he will be alble to himself! £9.99 @ home bargains £20 off amazon) and ben 10?, if he lies ben 10! best of luck!

Probably a stupid question - but do you NEED the arena to play this? Have bought the starter kit, thanks OP, and stuff but not the arena. :)

You certainly DON'T need the arena - any flat surface will do. My son plays on laminate floor in play room or on playground at school
