Board has arrived and it's ace :) better than the 970 GAMING in my opinion and Ballicom refunded me the difference as I purchased before the price drop. Good guys to be fair and delivered next day.
Totally agree umizra85 not worth spending over £100 on an FX set up board. I have bench marked the 970 GAMING from MSI which was awesome and if the Krait Edition lives up to the hype can see these doing well the the added USB 3.1.
Top Product!
Been a few end user benchmarks around and there's not much else that performs at this price point. Seems like a good final upgrade for a motherboard if you have an FX processor (I believe there will be 990 revisions by other manufacturers soon though, albeit at a much higher price point.)

Still tempted, thanks for replies might go for the 8800AXL ......perhaps.As mnetioned on plusnet. I get regular reboots of router, probably daily. Worse when son plays on PS4.Will dual band help with this his room is next door to the router so short range,If I use 2 SSID's one on 2.4 and one on 5ghz ( for ps4 short range) will this help with his connection and reduce disconnections? He is losing games when playing online dure to dropouts etc.Any advice welcomed.
It is very likely that it will help. Most problems with WiFi are because your router has to share the same channels with multiple neighboring networks. An extra 5GHz network really helps the devices that support it.
Unfortunately it seems ps4 doesn't have 5ghz :-(

I had this now on the 8800NL only because I switched to fibre which the 7800 didn't support as a stand alone router.

Excellent routers both models rock solid always with loads of devices connected wirelessly, billion may not be a brand a lot of people have heard of but in my experience they are exceptionally good products, a bit more expensive then your better known brands no names mentioned but it's worth paying a bit more sometimes.
I have one of these, rock solid! From a connection using a ADSL router provided by talk talk my connection was only 2.3mb, when I use this and tweeked the settings I managed to get it to 3.6mb!

Early adopters of these are going to get stung later, new Nvidia Titan X is going to have 12Gb memory, doubt it'll be this cheap but it'll at least have better driver support - something that's been sorely lacking of AMD for the past couple of years.
its going to be probably 3 times this price

Will this barebone (with 4GB RAM, normal HDD, OpenELEC) be better as a home media player than MiniX NEO X8-H or incoming MiniX NEO Z64?

It's a substantially faster CPU, it's also a substantially more power hungry one (relatively speaking). Which is better?

Good for a cheap router but not very future proof, i upgraded to 120mb forgetting the router was only 100mb on the wan port so its now useless and had to go back to using the superhub that doesnt work with VOIP :(

Why useless? Won't it still work @ 100mb anyway?

Thinking of buying a tablet with a dual WiFi aerial (not sure exactly what this is but it seems like it's a good thing). Would this router work in conjunction with the tablet?

1) yeah it should probably work.

2) The reason why you want multiple antennas is this thing that only became supported with wifi N grade: Streams. In the previous standard (G) you would have a single stream, a single wifi connection to your router. You'd get the maximum speed for that link (54mbps) or you wouldn't, simple as that. N grade boosted the single-stream bandwidth (72 or 150mbps depending on various things), but because that wasn't enough they also added multiple streams. With one antenna you can have one of those 150mbps streams to your router, with two you can have two of those streams giving you 300mbps, you can have three antennas which will let you have three streams giving you 450mbps. If your router has three antennas but your device has one, you'll be limited to one stream, and therefore 150mbps. If your router has one antenna but your device has three you'll also be limited to a single stream.

TL;DR more antennas -> more streams -> more speed between you and router.

P.S. Worth mentioning that because people are getting upset with differences in speeds between devices that're all labelled the same way (N grade only means you must have one antenna, so it's no guarantee of high speed) the next wireless generation called AC will force all devices that want to be AC capable to have two antennas at least, putting the minimum best-case connection at 867mbps. AC is good news for all of us.

Many thanks for the detailed explanation. My home wi-fi still uses a 2007 vintage BT Home Hub 1. Think it needs upgrading when I get the my tablet (hence the original question). As the one on Amazon seems to have gone up now, I might just wait and buy the soon to be released BT Home Hub 5 (£35 + postage if you're on BT Broadband). This does 802.11 ac as well as b/g/n. Not sure what ac does but I'm sure it's a good thing!

Hey Super Mat - Many thanks for the heads up. I did update the software to the .30 version but it did not change my picture unfortunately
Basically the only time I see real White is when you first switch on and the LG logo is floating around the screen or with a Digital radio station and the LG says "Audio Only" - these are both really white. When you go to a TV channel the white instantly becomes grey
Right now at night my football looks just about ok with PL, Contrast and Brightness all maxed out on 100 - prob not good for the TV ?
I have yet to investigate tweaks - I may call out a Technician to have a look inside. Thanks again though
R2Dom2 - My Xbox and my PC both looked really crap on HDMI - My xbox looks better with RGB to component and I switched my laptop back to 32" LCD through VGA and it looks wicked
That's really helpful - thanks very much. I've downloaded the firmware and will apply in the next few days and let you know. To be honest, I've not really noticed a problem with dimming/brightening but happy to apply. My biggest problem is the TV keeps saying 'no signal' (HDMI set to PC mode) when a PS3 game is loading or unloading. Perhaps this firmware update will fix that. Shame there's no list of features addressed in the update.
Hey Stuartbiza, just had a bit of a breakthrough with this issue and thought id come on here and let you and anyone else whos having the same issue know.
Ive noticed a massive improvement when updating to the newest firmware update from the LG website (03.30.12) which appears to disable the option of any energy saving features on the set. In dark scenes where the TV would periodically flash, now the issue is barely noticeable (though still there in some small capacity)
I was originally on firmware 03.24.12 (you can check your firmware by going to settings>customer services)

I hope this helps you.
Hi Supermatgames
There is no switchable Auto dimming feature on this TV
You have the "Energy save" features which are obvious and you also have the ABL (auto brightness limiter) which apparently is built into ALL Plasma TV's but is not switchable. The true test is as I said - flicking between "cinema", "game" and "off" you can see the background of the Text is truly white, whereas the white on the screen is very grey
I found a video on youtube which shows clearly the ABL in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHndICrpxqs
From this I have realised that my TV does exactly this but to a greater extent !
My previous plasma was LG 50PK350 and that was great (now out of stock) - this new one is not
I will investigate further to see if there are any tweaks I can do inside the TV otherwise it will go into the bin
So my advise for anyone thinking to buy this - try to be in a position to see the TV working first and whatever picture is showing press the "Cinema" "game" "off" button and check the white background of the text against the TV white.
Hi StuartIbizaNov

The issue your relating to is 'Auto Dimming', where if the majority of the image is dark, the screen will automatically lighten it, and equally with a bright scene, the image will darken. This SHOULD be an energy conserving setting which can be turned off, as surely the whole point of having a plasma is the range of colour, and with this feature you can never truly get your image right simply by design.

From what i understand, this issue is the manufacturers way of cutting down on energy consumption to pass whatever regulations they need too. LG refuses to acknowledge the problem and there is no way to disable it. So its like it or lump it i'm afraid.
The only hope is that a firmware update is released at some point which allows you to disable Auto Dimming, though its unlikely..

On another note, does switching a games consoles HDMI to PC and turning down the black levels setting make a noticeable impact on picture quality?

I have this.. it doesn't come with a bracket
Or a piece of double sided tape or velcro. I mean how often do you pick up your desktop and shake it or turn on its side?

Unless you're a hardware reviewer of course.

Edited By: renderman on Aug 30, 2013 12:55
Can't see any info about this SSD being boxed with a bracket, so you may have to pick one of those up too, providing your case doesn't have any tool-less spaces for it.
Pity it's not the extreme, they are most reliable SSDs we have at work, although the larger models, can's see why reliability would be much different on these unless they use different types of memory chips.

Yep, they are in deeeeeep trouble. Only going to be making SSD's from now on supposedly so I expect warranty on everything else to be null and void...http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/02/05/ocz_snafu/

They sound very poorly run.Apalling.
I have this psu, had it for over 2 years, its quiet and pretty good to be fair. However the cables are a bit short, fine if you are going to run them straight to the MB but not long enough if you plan to do a bit of cable management behind the rear panel.

ChampionshipManager is a troll so don't feed him.

As for this, OK price, but take in mind OCZ are in big trouble and could go bust at any moment.

If you have Scan free delivery you can get a Antec True Power New Continous 750W Modular Power Supply for £63.59 in the Today Only section, which ends Monday. However it is a hybrid modular meaning the 24pin and 8 pin connects are not removable

Wow really? I never had any idea they were in trouble. However im sure many people are voting cold just because they have a bad rep for their SSD's
