BOILING!

Very, very, very tempting!

Very good deal, ordered thanks.

I have just bought this and the matrix blu-ray set in the space of a minute or so.

Good deal. Very tempted by this but already have the DVD boxset at home which I haven't watched. How much am I likely to get for that if I sell it and is this worth getting on blu ray over dvd?
#8
Good spot, heat added.

I bought this a few weeks ago from Amazon at £24.99, haven't watched it yet just waitng for a weekend to myself when there is nobody around to interupt :-)

Not much, the DVD boxset can be had for about £16.99 now.

I also have the DVD boxset so I'm in the same predicament as you. :?

Me too. Bought it from Play for £9.49 a couple of months back and not got round to watching it yet.

If I could get my money back on it, I'd be pleased and I'd rather have the Blu-Ray version for about £13 more.

Smoking hottt!! I paid the £24.99 for the play deal.

As OP states Students can use their 10% off card so we get it for £22.49 pure bargain! and you still get 1% quidco even with the student discount.
#13
Can't... afford it.... but must....... at this..... price.... :D

How does 10% off work out as £22.49? lol

Surely that would be £2.29 making a total of £20.70?

good price for a fantastic series.

I hate to be negative but in my opinion this isnt the greatest blu-ray release ever. the audio is fantastic throughout and while a few shots are sublime in HD others are pretty much the same quality as the DVD release. That asside its almost criminal not to own this if you have a blu ray player and a 1080p tv
#15
I bought this as soon as it was released. It's a must have for any fan of band of brothers and anyone that's wanting to add a good series to there blu-ray collection.

The part where they are flying over normandy had my house shaking :P

If you have a decent audio setup then the DTS-MA HD audio makes it a worthwhile upgrade :-)
#17
Anyone else think this could drop to £19.99 round Christmas?

Trying to give myself a reason not to go ahead and get it :-D

ha ha excuse my deliberate (:whistling:) mistake I took the 10% off the £24.99 that I paid when I bought it from play not the HMV price!

Well, your choice, but you are missing out on a brilliant price on s brilliant boxset! [tp post #19]

H&R added.

This comparison might interest those with DVD copies....

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1085043 Although primarily compared to the HD-DVD version, the Bluray is just slightly better again IMHO picture quality wise [in the real world]

Always remember that the director intentionally mean't it to have a lot of grain and gritiness.

The DTS HD master audio soundtrack is outstanding!

I wish Avatar The Last Airbender series was released on Blu ray.

Thinking of selling my Band of Brothers DVD on here in the sell/trade bit. It's brand spanking new, took the plastic wrapper off, put it on my TV shelve and that's it. Never even took the DVD's out! How much should I ask you think?

Well the cheapest I can see it on find-dvd.co.uk is £16.20, so I'd say knowing people on here you'd get about 11 quid. Opened but not used doesn't seem to matter much to people here, as I've found out before now!

Quality, just ordered, its also taken off my student discount so getting it for £20.69 delivered! It would cost me £15quid for petrol and parking to get to my nearest HMV.

Thanks OP.

Thanks for all the comments peeps, this really is a great boxset at a great price.
I cant wait to watch this in full HD.
#30
I hope it stays this price on Thursday (Payday) :|

I have the Bourne Trilogy on Blu-Ray to buy aswell from Blockbuster online for £30 and now this  Dammit!!! Just when i said won't spend unless i have to :whistling: Also the Matrix trilogy is too good to resist at £17 :w00t:
#31
SO does this come in the metal tin, just like the dvd edition?

brilliant price!
#32
Great price, saw it on TV, then DVD. Ready to watch for a third time on Blu-Ray (4 yrs since last viewing)

Last time I watched it on DVD on a 32" CRT, so 42" Plasma Blu Ray should be awesome.
#33
Excellent price, been after this on blu-ray for a while.

Does anybody know if this is instore or online only?

Thanks a lot

Have finally given in and ordered

But I've been a little bit clever and a little bit sneaky about it, just to counter the fact that it's pretty naughty buying this when I have the DVD already, which I've never even watched!

I noticed HMV are selling Matrix Trilogy on Blu-Ray for £16.99 - but CEX offer £22 cash, so bought two lots of Matrix Trilogy. That gives me a £10 profit on that, and along with £2.84 Quidco, it means it will cost me about £10.16 for this Band of Brothers Blu-Ray - 16p more than the price I'm hoping to get for selling my DVD

What you gonna do if CEX change the trade in value of Matrix Boxset in the time it takes HMV to deliver these to you?:w00t:

Best laid plans and all that....

Never got into this when it was on TV, but judging from the outstanding reviews on IMDB I will give this a go. Just hope it's better than the awful Saving Private Ryan!

You might wanna give this a miss then as (from Wiki) it was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks after their collaboration on the World War II film Saving Private Ryan

Ha yeah I realised that, but Saving Private Ryan was (apart from the first 20 mins) fictionalised sentimental US flag waving trash, but this is supposed to be based on a true story from the war and has had rave reviews so I'm hopeful
