This is cheaper in a few places and you can use quidco too. Plus a few of these have vouchers off so better elsewhere. Still a good show though.

But still cheaper making it a better deal elsewhere. CD wow always have vouchers for £1 or £2 off. The Hut currently has £2 off so the deals are not just for a few pence.

Great Series and seems like quite a good deal but i dont have a blueray player yet still heat added.

Sorry to go off on a tangent but has anyone seen Generation Kill? It's from the makers of The Wire and is well worth a watch is a bit like a modern day band of brothers set during the first gulf war.
#9
Nice one i have the standard tin,how does the blu ray look? i know the grainy look in film was deliberate.

Great series! had this pre-ordered with HMV since July when a post was put up then!! Not long to wait now.....

As mentioned on the previous BoB thread, this show (IMHO) is the best thing to ever be on TV.

Somebody has already pointed out above however that the 'grain' look is purposeful in this series and does add an edge to the camera work. Is it worth getting on BlueRay as well as DVD? Hmm I'm not sure.

yeah generation kill was brilliant. a definite must watch for any self-respecting band of brothers fan.

also keep an eye on the next project by the creators behind band of brothers, "the pacific"

Don't forget that blu-ray is more than just better visuals! HD audio or a PCM soundtrack can make a huge difference to the experience :)

Yeah im sorry that grainy look does not go down well on bluray. Same as it doesnt on SkyHD. Good deal though.

I pre-ordered mine from Play a few weeks ago for £29.99. Not sure if it had the arts cards when I ordered it, but it's changed to it. Can't wait for it as I still haven't watched this. :w00t:

Your in for a treat.

Every episode is like the Start of Saving Private Ryan only better.

If your not blubbing at the end of the last episode your probably already dead or a Nazi

I know from friends who have seen it and all the comments I've seen on the net. I was going to buy it from HMV, but then heard it was being released on BD, so I didn't buy it. Should look and sound fab in HD.

Hot hot hot!

Just pre-ordered from Smiths w/voucher and Quidco.. should come in at £28.97 if Quidco tracks okay!

I have to add my voice to how good this series was; to me it was like Saving Private Ryan but for grown-ups. To see the effects of a brutal conflict on the new recruits who initially saw it as a bit of an adventure (although pensively so) and the deconstruction of the idea of the typical 'war hero', but without being anti-war, was amazing (although you could argue that all war films/TV shows are anti-war).

As mentioned above as well; the last two episodes are just mindblowing. Not so much for the content, as we've seen it before in other films, but the way the series builds up and up through scenes of armed conflict and then *bang* just like the soldiers who are on a 'victory high', you're presented with the human tragedy behind it all. A dry eye would be a rare thing after watching these.

HOT DEAL! :)

A stunning series made all the better on Blu Ray

Make sure you watch the series in order, but make extra time for the last episode - it really is moving.

Will this be a limited edition like the DVD version? i.e. still available five years later? :whistling:
