These deals are good we got our tv and blu ray player there last yea for a great price but the staff at the Cambridge branch are hideous like they are doing me a favor as I hand over £900!! But hot for prices

Yer, good ole Richer Sounds. Always bamboozling you with custmer friendly speel.
Asked them to reserve a Sammy LE40B530 for 45 mins until I got there. Offered my mob number to call me if I wasn't there on the dot or before.

RS "We couldn't possibly do that Sir, this is a special offer!"
So got my missus to phone and got the same spiel. So told em to shove it and ordered this years model from Amazon for £27 quid more--LE40C530. **RS SUCKS FOR CUSTMER SCHMOOZING**

Theres some crazy offers on TV's already this weekend, so it's just a case of picking the right size in your price bracket and asking yourself what you really do and do not need.

I had a 20" Samsung LCD TV/Monitor that I bought from RS over a couple of years ago which would regularly stop working (power supply issue, I believe).

I'd return it under warranty to Samsung who would repair it and send it back.

Anyway, on the 4th occassion, Samsung said they would not repair it but would give me a credit against a new model but that the credit would not be for what I paid for the unit (£200) but whatever an equivalent spec unit would cost now.

Samsung said they would send me the details of the credit by post but it failed to arrive twice so they suggested getting my local RS to call them to get the credit note details.

Called the Chiswick, London branch who were more than happy to do this and called me back once they had the information. I then popped in to buy a replacement unit but RS would only give me a £140 replacement unit or £140 credit against a more expensive unit.

Also, the price of the unit I wanted was more expensive than competitors on the internet and RS's policy of price matching means it must include an extended warranty - they know their extended warranty is the cheapest hands down.

So, I was losing out both ways.

Pressed the manager on this a little and he was absolutely great.

He gave me the full £200 for my old unit - I was surprised as I would have been happy with £160/£170 and knocked £50 off the unit I wanted to buy.

Extremely friendly and customer focussed and really can't sing his praises enough.

Bit of a windbag story (sorry) but wanted to share my positive experience of RS after the 2 negative ones above.

ive also had good service with the richersounds sheffield branch

reserved a set of speakers that were on special offer but ended up not being able to collect the day the reservation ended. went in the next day and that set had just been sold but the person sourced a set from another store for me that were brand new even though they usually wouldnt transfer stock between stores on offers
