It's a Guyanese beer. I know cause I'm Guyanese and drank this all the time. I think these are brewed in their Barbados brewery. It's good.

Lived in Barbados for a long time. Drank a lot of Banks Beer. Suits the Caribbean climate. Not Quite the same here. But I wouldn't put you off. Needs to be COLD!

How can it be Guyanese beer when the brewery is in St Michael, Barbados? I lived there a few years also and love this stuff but I suppose it wouldn't be the same here. I also loved Piton from St Lucia and Carib from Trinidad but I don't suppose they are available in Tesco!

Thanks OP. Enjoyed it when on holiday in Barbados. Haven't seen it here since B&M sold it last year . Cheers!

Carib has been on the same offer at Tesco for a few weeks, so it might end tomorrow.

Banks is definitely from B'dos. Saw the brewery many years back. As a poster said, the ones from Barbados do taste different, a bit like the Guiness in Ireland apparently, and defo needs to be cold.

PS These are in the World Food section, not with the alcohol.

Let's be honest, no beer is gonna be the same here. I spent some time in South America a few years ago, and in that heat, the beer was tremendously refreshing. Never heard of this one so might pop into my local Tesco to grab a few. Thanks OP.

Might have to sink a few of these whilst cheering on the Guyana Amazon Warriors!!

Amazing when being drank in Barbados, but then again everything tastes better there.

I still buy it in Tesco when I see it on offer, so I'll definitely be picking some up.

Just on my 5th one now and feeling slightly hazy :-) really nice lager, slight speckled hen ale like hoppyness to it.

Had mine in the freezer for an hour so tastes lovely
