Barclays Premier account £25.00/month

Barclays account customers can upgrade to a "premier account" which costs £25 a month. With this you receive the usual benefits of interest free overdraft, car breakdown cover etc but two unusual benefits are that you receive a black connect card and if there is a queue in the branch you are able to go straight to the front - lol !!

How's a £25 per month account hot? I'm sure you are joking!
#4
Again hope you are joking!

but if you really want a reason:

£300 per year for car breakdown(can get for £40 or less with quidco), interest free overdraft(free at Alliance and Leicester)?

You are losing at least £260 with this deal!

Plus the fact that credit balances at A+L have a substantially higher interest rate!
#5
i wouldnt let anyone push in front of me in a queue at the bank
#6
i would feed them the black card

I think you also get worldwide travel insurance ... but you can get this for about £25 ... so still losing £235 ...

brrrrr ....

How can it be red hot when it costs £300 a year just to have the account.???
I am sure that a years breakdown cover can be got for under £35 and quite a few accounts dont charge foe overdrafts?
This must be a **** take, nobody is that daft surely.
#9
Jump the queue only if you have a death wish or going to rob the bank.
#10
If there was a prize for top COLD vote, this would probably be somewhere among the front runners!

Going off the head post I have to say queue jumping and a black card is hardly worth £25, this deal is stone cold.

Barclays have hit me with charges for well in to three figures for telephone banking transactions they never did after I called them.

They claimed I had never called - then claimed I must just have called only for information after I showed them the calls on my bill.

If they claimed I had never called originally - how could they suddenly claim I had only called for information?

Also - the reason for calling was their online banking was not working a major percentage of the time - and the queues in their branch are the worst of any bank I have been in.

BALTIC!

How's a £25 per month account hot? I'm sure you are joking!

because you get alot of extras - rac cover (top one), will writing, travel insurance (good one too), etc...its worth it if you have a family and have some of these things anyway.....my wife has this premier account though hers is 14.50 /month

brrrrr ....

the cover @ £25 is not the same...like comparing a ferrari to a focus  but again depends whether you have a family....if not its not worth - if you do then it may be...you have to compare like for like products....the travel ins for a family of 4 is well over £100 (looking at the comparison sites.....the cheap ones give you very very little cover - read the small print!)
#30
Haha cant believe you are actually defending this deal royals!

Actually the £25 insurance will be pretty much exactly the same.

There is no way you cannot get the combination of extras for the year for substantially less than £300. It is never ever worth it, under any circumstances.

durrr...the rac cover is solution 4, which via quidco is 116.25 after cashback anyway, not £40
#32
So I go with another car breakdown cover provider, with a level of cover more suitable.

Next point?
#33
Oh and by the way, £128.25 - £40 = £88.25 not £116.25 .

£25 for a family...have a laugh...no way...and i bet it isnt the same cover...check the policy and t&c's
im not defending it at 25/mth thats too much, but the 14.50/mth we pay is ok...i used to have the same rac cover and its 116.25 through quidco i think

it is for joint cover..nah nah nah nah
#36
Royals - up to you. Waste your money on products you dont actually need when you sit and think about it(no-one needs worldwide travel insurance for the YEAR, and the vast majority of people would not choose to buy the top package for car breakdown). Really doesnt bother me if you want to spend this money when you could not. Enjoy :)

daft statement of the year - "no-one needs worldwide travel insurance for the YEAR"

no you mean you and some others, but some do

but again, im not wasting money....it would cost me more to buy them seperately .....but as i said this isnt a good deal for some...but you have to understand it is for others......

i travel alot, have a family so its worth it for me and it would work out more exp to buy everything seperately...

the top rac will get you to your destination if your car breaks down and the rac cant fix it, the others wont...this for some people like me is important as funnily i have a business to run

its not that hard to understand is it.
