An OEM super multi drive is cheap as chips though, depending on what you're using it for you could even go without a DVD drive at all.

What's the max memory on this board? Can anyone recommend a 2gb upgrade?
#5

4 memory slots. 4GB Max ramBut I'd leave it at 2GB personally. More than enough juice for day-to-day use...

Depends what you are doing day to day. I've got 2 Gig and for some CS4 work I need to close other apps like antivirus otherwise CS4 stops due to insufficient memory.

Yeh 2gb is a bit of a stretch for me atm, i'm running a similar setup and CS4/5 really doesn't like it. RAM is so cheap anyways, does ebuyer still have free shipping on?
#8
It says 2 memory slots.

If you're not afraid of assembly, Scan have the following:

* Xclio 6010 Black (Silver Alumin Front) Midi Tower Case w/o PSU Hi End
* 500W Ezcool PSU Silent 80mm Fan 24pin+4pin ATX v2.03
* Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400, S775 Wolfdale 45nm, 2.7 GHz, 2MB Cache, 13.5x Core Ratio, 65W
* Gigabyte GA-G41MT-ES2L, Intel G41, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR3 1066/1333(OC), SATA 3Gb/s, VGA, ATX
* 1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM
* 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V

for 225 inc. vat exc. delivery. About 100 quid more for a 1TB HD and extra 2GB RAM (And I have a feeling that the intel dual core is faster than the athlon x2, but don't quote me on it.)

So if I already have a PC, I can switch out my IDE 80gb HDD with Windows already on it (and all other needed programs) and I'm good to go?

No, if only life was that simple.

Well yes kind of.
However you will get loads of device errors because of the different hardware.
You can use the parts but then best to reformat and stick on your O/S

You can stick 4GB on a 32-bit system.
#15
Using 4GB of ram in a windows based 32bit OS will give you just over 3 GB of usable ram. If you want to put your old hard drive into this system then you will need to have a dvd drive hooked up to it and the chipset cd/dvd for the new motherboard & probably Windows. If Windows will not boot then do a repair and it will be ok.

I need a desktop pc for my business. Is this a good one to get? I do a bit of photoshop editing (nothing intense) and a lot of office applications are used.

Would this be sufficient enough? What is the processor like? Is it fast enough?
#17
can u boot from an IDE hard drive on these? Or is it SATA only?
#18
has SATA and IDE slots:
SATA Ports 4
IDE Ports 1 ( although most IDE cables plug into 2 drives)
#19
and i assume the power supply can power IDE devices?
#20
IDE Ports 1 - so 2 IDE HDD or optical drives
