Jump to unread Post a Commentif only they didn't give so little for your games in the past and charge you so much for there releases, perhaps they would not have suffered so much with sales.
also would have been nice when they started doing psn downloads, etc, they could have tried to make it a little bit cheaper than what psn actually charged on there network in the 1st place.

Yes I'm sure if they paid more to customers and charged less for products they would be a great financial position now.

no, didn't mean give everyone £50 and sell there games for £20 like you thought i meant.
just to clarify, as an example, when modern warfare 2 was released over a year ago brand new still sealed. they can't buy sealed as it's against there policy, so needed to be unwrapped. they offered just £20 cash and were selling them pre owned at £44.99, more than pretty much any store on the high street new.

Trade it in someplace else or just sell it.

I'm sorry to break this too you but you got RIPPED OFF, they are fully allowed to buy new sealed games off you, i have traded in a few sealed games in in the past and they have NEVER unwrapped them.
It seems like they just told you BS, that way once they unwrapped your game they could give you less of a trade value.
It's a good thing i know the trade in policies of these stores, it saves me getting swindled.
They sed to a few ears ago but got stung with people shrink wrapping boxes with no games in.

yep, you are spot on m8!!! they said that they could not do nothing with it, including opening it and had to watch me unwrap in front of them before they would deal.

They are allowed to take Xbox 360 games and PS3 games that are sealed, i have been doing it for years at various stores, both Xbox 360 and PS3 games have manufactures seals that cannot be re-produced via cheap dodgy re-sealing machines
As long as the games have that seal intact they ARE allowed to take them from you.
I know there policies just fine thank you.
The fact of the matter is that if you are deliberately opening a sealed game in front of them then you are deliberately de-valuing the product and are in fact turning it from brand new to used status, that is stupid and you should just sell it online as new/sealed instead.

But that's what they have to do.
I have two sealed games here. Both are normal shrink wrapped and apart from the Microsoft seal. Which is easy to peel Off. Take disc out and re seal. They are just a normal shrink wrapped product.
Trust me. People do it ! It's also why all the accessories come in so much plastic compared to yeas ago as people used to slit the boxes to take them product out.
I have never being able to trade in a sealed game for years. At either HMV, cex, game, Gamestation or grainier games.
The only time I have had to trade un sealed games is when I got them cheap and they had more trade value than I paid for them.
The reason they make you open them is to prove what is in them. Ditto to when police ask you to empty pockets. It so they can not be accused of tampering with them.
An influx of sealed copies may alert businesses that their customers are acquiring said games somewhere and potentially making a profit. A large supply of games being traded in sealed of the same copy may reduce the-trade in-value.
id rather get rid of it there
