Ok,so i could just order some fruit & veg for just over £8 an then make a tiny profit on quidco
#11
Ordered, thanks! They mailshot me every week and always wanted to try it out, now I can!
#12
My Quidco tracked at £10 then another seperate 80p transaction then ANOTHER 80p transaction so I think you may be able to make profit. Just make sure its for any order rather than a box of fruit/veg.
#13
Everything is shockingly overpriced, people who eat organic foods are just getting ripped off IMO. Nothing wrong with supermarket fruit/veg/meat.
#14
I have to agree with rutherford777 , Overpriced & coming from London, How fresh is this? Just search for your local farm/Shop & buy locally @ much less!

 Err..

Other than farmers getting utterly ripped off, then yeah, it's fine!

Thanks OP, this is good :) The stuff is overpriced especially compared to my local farmers' market, but with the Quidco £10, I have a meal of sausages and mash and veg coming to me for free next week :)

I got the small box for £10.95 a month ago so only 95p after quidco.

fruit and veg was delicious (except the chard) and lasted 3 times as long as anything you'll get in tescos.

People who say its the same clearly havent a clue (maybe its because of all the pesticides they have consumed ;)

I actually find it hard to find all the organic veg/meat when i shop ....i try to eat organic but its impossible to eat 100% organic , so is it worth it if im only eating about 50% organic?

Im not sure if im just wasting my money to be honest.

I just wished Organic products were more in demand as i cant understand why anyone would buy veg with all pesticides on them , why feed yourself & your family pesticides

Better to only eat 50% pesticide infected food than 100% infected. I dont bother with organic if I'm going to peel it (e.g. carrots).

:)Stop dissing my deal! Its my birthday today ..LOL :gift:

Its a fiver for a family box sized so THIS is not overpriced. Where can you get this much for less than that other than grow your own.

Is it possible to order the small mixed organic box at £10.95 going through Quidco to get £10 off.?
You'd get free delivery as well
That means just 95p or less if Quidco takes off more!
Would be an orgasmic deal rather than organic if that works :)
#26
I *think* you can as someone above has mentioned this is what they did.

I thought the idea was that they use local suppliers, so more like a franchise than a huge warehouse. If everything came from London, then there would not be areas where they could not deliver (at least in England). However, if things came from local suppliers then there would be some areas which could be served and some which could not, depending on whether local suppliers and drivers were signed up to their scheme.

Completely missed that post.
Obviously not fully awake yet!

We used to use these but the quality was rather mixed and and disagree entirely that it lasted longer than supermarket fruit and veg 0not arguing the reasons why just that it didn;t last as well). You are paying for the convenience of having it delivered to your door so you should expect it to be slightly more expensive than your local farmers shop or equivalent

It comes in a large cardboard box which you leave out for your next delivery (gets swapped) and unfortunately fruit in a large box is going to move around in transit and get bruised. They also delivered one box to a wrong address which didn't help our perception (but they sorted it out in fairness). Some of the fruit was very small in size also

Still a good price with the discount offered so voted hot for the deal

Just to say I have been using these guys for a year or so. Although it is not cheap there is no comparison with supermarket organic. This stuff tastes like hevean especially things like tomato, rocket, parsnips, potatoes. Guys if you do not have access to farmers markets and live on the outskirts of London as I do go for it.

Once you get used to the "high" prices its great!

A lot fresher than the stuff from tescos etc which probably comes from Europe or further away.

Thanks OP. I've been thinking of trying this for a while so I've ordered the small box,

Thanks again

Entirely agree; if it's organic then it shouldn't last longer as it hasn't been sprayed with fungicides: conversely sometimes certain supermarket foods do degrade more quickly once out of the packing as that packing will be MAP (modified atmosphere packing) it's why packs of salad seem to go off so quickly.

NB remember also that organic doesn't mean absolutely no spraying, it means very minimal levels are allowed. From my experience most farmers try not to spray, whether organic or not, as spray = extra cost.

This sort of thing isn't really comparable with supermarket 'choice'. You expect the quality to be superior, but you're also paying for the delivery and the origin assurance of the foodstuffs.

but in my experience it does last a lot loner. Probably because it is delivered within a few days of being taken from the ground whereas supermarkets can take 3-4 weeks to do the same. A lot of their stuff comes in on container ships.

Yes - their customer service is second to none. Everyone can make mistakes - it was a little churlish to mention this I feel.

Another good thing about Abel and Cole - they will not air freight anything, so you can rest assured that ridiculous amounts of energy won't have been wasted getting the produce to you.
